After my barn find today. The engine has changed ! This was only $125 which is way cheaper than a torque converter and a 420cc that we were gonna buy. And the front end is done now minus the shocks.

It is a Honda nx125 6 speed.............

EDIT : Using a predator 420 for simplicity NOT this one.

Well after great thought and putting it on paper. We just can’t get it all to fit and be correct. So I ordered a new engine plate from go powersports and it’s either getting the 420cc or a 670cc for simplicity.

Got the new predator 420cc and the torque converter in so we will be getting this one going also here shortly. Just need to weld the engine plate on and see how the chain is gonna work with the torque converter setup.

Can’t get the torque converter to clear the belt the opposite way So we are gonna try a clutch.

Enjoy some pics from just tying to get the engine to fit ! It’s extremely tight.

Is that a glass body or plastic?

Fiberglass. I’ve already fixed a lot of it from previous posts in this thread actually. It was way rougher than current pics.

My bad......... and thought I posted the fiberglass rebuild process. I didn’t.

Messed with the trike again tonight.

Got the new 60 tooth sprocket and greased the axle and put it back together. Looks like the sprocket is gonna clear with some minor modifications. This should mean I don’t have to use the jackshaft now. It will also have the 420cc and torque converter. So hopefully we can still get it to wheelie.

You couldn't grind fins/stiffeners and rotate the TC enough?

No I had to remove all of them. It is gonna face forward instead of the regular way.

So I’m building my own tav plate out of 1/4” steel plate instead.

Almost got the 40 series plate full done today. Still waiting on the hub for the 3/4” shaft for the driven. And I need to clearance one side but other than that it’s gonna work perfect.

8” x 16” 1/4” plate
Comet 203784 belt which uses a 7-7/8” center to center spacing
Non driven go kart hub for the driven shaft

Finished the plate minus the driven hub holes. Still waiting on the hub to be sure the hole is correct. It’s gonna clear everything it looks like. Just had to move the starter solenoid and the engine back a little farther.

And I thought the chain was gonna hit the front frame rail and I was gonna have to add a roller but now it is flush with the front of the 60 tooth sprocket so I think it’s gonna work out perfectly ok also !
