So I'm taking these piece of s, mechanic brakes off my Manco Intruder, I'm wanting to put on the attached brake setup. What else do I need to get this hooked up? I'm looking at the brake pedal and wondering how I'm going to connect? Is there another kit I need?

There's a rod at the end of the master cylinder that needs to be attached to the brake pedal with another rod. Just bolt down the master cylinder on the frame, then get a rod or push/pull cable attach one end to the brake pedal and the other to the master cylinder. Just make sure it has enough travel.

Thanks!

I'll have to play around with what I have, the pedal setup and space is completely different.

Got this kit, it's cheap so figured I'd give it a shot. Anyone here use it?

Hey Im new to the forum. I came here looking for this EXACT topic. I currently use a mechanical brake on a 1 inch live axle. Its OKAY but it has SOME rub no matter how I adjust it. I want to change to hydraulic. Did you have to buy a hub to mount the disc? Also did you get the set up working? Post pix pls.

Some rub is normal. You want the pads to be as close to the rotor as you can without excessive drag. I usually run the adjustment bolt in until the pad just touches the rotor then lock the locknut. As long as there's no pressure holding the pad or pads against the rotor you should be fine.

When I bought a Manco Commador II a month ago the brakes didn’t stop too well. I took them off when I was replacing gears and chain and sanded the pads and rotor and glued the stationary pad. The caliper only rides on about 2/3 of the bracket, so it kind of loose fitting so I didn’t sand the pads to fit the rotor, but now it has very good stopping power.
