My buddy just got a used mini bike off Craigslist to rip around with me on my Coleman. The guy he got it from said he just put a new predator 212 on there. It was working fine when he first got it my buddy said but when he got it to my house it wasn’t running right. It will start up fine with the choke on but every time we switch the choke off to start riding the engine sputters and stalls. Sounds like a carb to me to so we took it all apart and cleaned it. Pulled the low speed jet and cleaned that too. Still nothing. Even went ahead and got a brand new carb and installed it today but no luck. Even with a brand new carb it stalls whenever the Choke is turned off. Please help us, we want to ride!

When you put everything back together.. you put it back the exact same way?...
On the insulator plate next to the engine, there is one gasket that needs to positioned the right way or it blocks the passage for air..
A way of testing if there is an air leak, is try some carb cleaner sprayed lightly around the carb when running... if it dies or sputters there a leak...

that's good advice Are you sure you're not confusing choke on and off positions? Choke "off" (or "run") is the same direction as fuel "on" if it's a Honda GX clone which I suspect it is.
I'm having this exact issue with my predator 301 motor. Its run great since day one. It has a "stage 1" kit. My buddy took it for a ride and it started cutting out now it only runs on choke and dies with it off. You can keep it running if you keep goosing the trottle but won't idle without choke on. Took carb apart found nothing obvious cleaned it out with no change. When I figure it out I'll let you know. I'm thinking of buying a ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight and giving it a good soak.

A lemon juice boil might be cheaper off hand... look it up

I will try that tonight to see if I have a leak. I’m pretty sure I put it all back together right with the gasket in the same position but I’m just getting familiar with this type of engine so it’s definitely possible.
