I am building an 6.5hp off road gokart which is meant mostly for hill climbing. Sooner or later i will upgrade the engine with the classsic stuff (cold air intake, jet, header etc). The tires will be 16inches tall and the net weight of this whole thing will be around 100kg without the passengers(it will be two seater). My main problem is that i dont have access to a torque converter made for gokarts because i live in europe and i cannot order something from ebay easily. My question is if i can use a wet clutch with a total gear ratio of 8:1 for the purpose i want.

also i was thinking about using a scooter variator as a cvt

I bought a set up similar to that online - basically a honda gx200 clone. However, it was shipped with the clutch burnt up. Any one have any idea where I can get the wet clutch assembly? Id prefer to have the whole unit, rather than just the plate kit, since I'm not sure the clutch weight portion will fit other plates...

You might have to approach honda directly. I cant think of any places that sell knock offs. They are awesome clutches though!

Thanks for the responses, guys. Brianator, I thought about starting a new thread, but didnt want to muddy up the site too much. Saw this thread and gave it a shot.
I ordered a honda clutch that should get here next week sometime, so I'll make sure to convey what the verdict is as far as fitting or not. Should I just continue on this thread since I started here? Or start a new one?
