How to buy nitrous.........

Anybody know how you get nitrous bottles filled these days? My HVACR world has always been bottle exchanges for oxy and acet, CO2, nitrogen, etc. Never refilled anything.

Local speedshop. Welding supply store. Just guessing, I've never refilled N²O.

Not the same nitrous as whip it's from what I have heard.

Find a speed shop, the fill bottles and charge by the pound. You could buy a filling station and mother bottle, but last time I checked that would set a guy back around a grand.

The nitrous is the same. Automotive and industrial nitrous have additives in them to discourage illicit use (ie, huffing), whereas whip-its cannot because it's a food product. Medical nitrous also does not, for obvious reasons.

But the nitrous itself is the same and would perform equally in an engine.

good to know, kinda like how they added bitterants to pills to cut down on snorting and the air dusters to prevent huffing......

And why ethanol must be poisoned for retail sale.
(denatured alcohol is ethanol with just enough methanol added to make it toxic).
