212 stage one won't start

I installed the stage one kit on my 212 and today it wouldn't start for the first time, full choke nothing, I have a feeling it's something I messed up with the jet. I put it in with the thinner part of the nozzle up and then the upgraded jet after that. I took off the air filter and pulled a couple times to see if there was any fuel in the carburator and I don't think I saw any, picture below is what the spray nozzle looks like from the inside

Is the fuel on on the carb? Is the kill switch off? Start with the simple things first.

nozzle? you mean the emulsion tube?
yeah narrow neck up,
and yes main jet threaded in from below (screwdriver slit down of course )
but it sounds like you just stacked them, can't be, right?

yes the thinner side is up, the jet screw side is face down, so idk I can get it to run on starter fluid and what might be its own gas for a little bit if I rev it up enough but then it stalls out

Could it have something to do with my vent filters? I got them from AutoZone and they're fuel filters

Can you take another picture from the right side of the engine, and one closer to the carb?
I am not sure about the fuel filters not sure why they wouldn't work though. You can try and open the gas cap see if that makes it start if you are worried about the fuel filter not letting the fuel tank vent.

Is the gov removed or left stock?...
It looks like the throttle arm isnt connected to the butterfly vane. that would cause it not to start.
IF gov as stock... make sure all springs/rod are connected properly. Make sure there isnt any leaks from the gaskets and insulator isnt cracked.

With some more testing it acts like it's not getting enough fuel, I tried putting the old jet back in and nothing changed, if I give it gas it can stay running but it can't idle

I'm sure someone else will say this but that throttle setup looks like an accident waiting to happen. How did you run the rod? And i'd sugjest getting a cable that has a housing. Not just a bare cable.

You say it will run if you hold the throttle open? Have your tried to adjust the idle screw?

Also on your second picture the fuel valve is towards the back of the engine. I do not have a carb in front of me but isn't towards back of engine fuel off?

Also as Dingocat said that throttle setup is sketchy at best.

Yea, his carb linkage is an accident waiting to happen. That ain't even right. The throttle plate is flopping lose. The choke is open. Someone said the fuel is off which is actually a good thing at this point.

But you called this one for sure.
