Any cool Facebook pages that deal in the hobby I should know about? I did a search and was surprised at what little came up! Thanks.

I'll say this:

I spend a lot of time on automotive forums because I maintain my own vehicles. Over the last several years (5-10) I have noticed a gradual shift from traditional web forums to FB groups. I much prefer the forum layout and ability to quickly search and find information. Sadly, if I want to play the "game" well, I need to at least have a toe in the FB world otherwise I'll miss out on parts or vehicles that simply don't get posted in the forums.

FB sucks, but there are just as many people using it as not.

FB forums are a whole different ballgame lol! I admin in 2 different Dodge charger/challenger groups and some of the stuff in there is beyond silly. There are some really crazy people, to say the least.

With that said, "Minibike nation" is decent...lots of members. Beware, you must have thick skin when joining the group, as some members are, ah, let's say "blunt" if you ask a question that they think is obvious! LOL

For years I've been watching a lot of online communities shrivel up because of FB. It's really sad because forums are at least partly a searchable archive of useful information. FB is not; that stuff drops off and is gone, which leads to asking the same questions over and over. Then there are the nuts and dolts mucking it up in between. No thanks.

Not quite, if you are part of a group, you can search within the group by using the search bar at the top of the group page.

Many don't know this however, so stuff does get asked a lot.

As far as that goes, I see lots of the same questions asked here :p

I created a Facebook group called AMP (American Minibike Promoters) to try and make it more user friendly by putting relevant things in photo albums or by adding tabs to help find things. It is not super popular but I am trying LOL. But FB will never be as good as DIYGo karts #facts

Sounds like my kinda place. Wonder how long it would take me to draw a lifetime ban there? This place just makes me yawn without me being me.

I'd like to know that comment as well. I have only gotten one good thing out of facebook, and that was a PITA kart that I'm still trying to get running 4 months later due to braking issues and previous owner idiocy. Whats absolutely hilarious is that the 12 year old Tecumseh only needed a carburetor clean and is running great.

Yeah, I agree that FB is Satan...but I belong to several FB forums for the industry that I own a biz in and I get real time feedback when I need it from pros all over the country. The forums are searchable too. FB forums have their strong points. Too bad the nitwit that own it is Satans son...lol.
