Electric Start Battery Question

I just converted a Honda GX160 to electric start. Now I need a battery. I have been seeing SLA batteries stating they are for use on pressure washers, etc. with electric start. Are these batteries ok to use for a go-kart, or should I get an actual lawnmower battery?

SLA batteries work just fine for small electric starters if they're sized properly. I've seen people use 12v NiMH packs (like for RC cars) for starting (but not charged by) a small engine too.

I probably wouldn't go as large as a riding mower battery, but a powersport battery wouldn't be a bad idea.

Thanks. If I was going to go with an SLA what Ah rating should I look for?
