What's the fastest you've gone in your kart/minibike? Assuming 4-stroke karts/bikes, but 2-stroke welcome too. Currently got the old 5.5 HP Manco Dingo up to 30 on grass.

32 on a 6.5HP Dingo 286. Well I did 30, my friend went ballistic and did a crazy stunt getting up to 32, and nearly killed himself in the process. My run was grass to get up to speed and ended on pavement. His run was all pavement.

Measured with DigiHUD and a ziptied phone on the steering wheel.

65 mph on my Baja warrior drag bike.

:smiley_omg:

I got my Baja Warrior up to 45mph one time and scared myself lol! Too fast on stock tires.

Got my YerfDog up to 37 mph, and it was almost as scary as the Baja :p

I used a iPhone app that saved top speed for each run so I didn't have to worry about looking at it while driving lol.

Watch around the 3 min time... I did 65 with that set up. I am trying currently running 60mph in the 1/8 mile.

This vid shows 52mph uphill on my trailmaster ts500, but I've done 55 on it.
My El Lobo minibike will go much faster, but haven't had the real estate to hold WOT for long enough (plus it is currently geared for way too much bottom end, scary when the front end comes up that easily.)

My little home built yard kart (not very heavy) will squeak out 43mph on a long flat straight if I've got the tires aired up nice and stiff. 37mph if they're aired down a bit, which is how I usually keep them. That's with a Briggs Intek 190 ohv running no governor, a homemade long 3 step header, and a jetted GX200 carb with a homemade adapter and 3" runner for a little extra low end. And 200 lbs of driver.

The rat wagon will hit 27 with a 196 clone, gov delete, jet, and exhaust, but the mule drive eats up a ton of power. Which is ok. With its long skinny stance, solid front tires, janky steering, and a jackshaft brake, I don't really even like going 27 on it.

The drift trike (almost finished) goes... I dunno how fast it would go. It's sort of a hard thing to top out. Anything above 20mph on the GPS, and it gets pretty darn sketchy, especially with no rear brakes.

The inspiration for this thread was this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK2jzCZ5WUI

Apparently this is a 9.5 HP predator 212, on what I assume are 11/11.5 inch rear tires with a 58T sprocket and a 14T sprocket. They said they managed to get 53 MPH out of it. I used one of those online calculators, and with their setup that shouldn't be possible. I mean, I know they have the governor removed, but even at 6000 RPM they wouldn't be doing 53 on flat ground (plus, I've never seen a 212 push out that kind of RPM unless it was heavily modified, which this one is not).

Sorry if a bit off topic, but I wasn't sure if this deserved its own thread.

With 12" Tires, and 6200 RPM, 58 :14 would give about 53mph.
Where does it say 53? I think I saw 44mph?????

I may not know the size of the back tires, but once again 6200 RPM out of a mostly stock predator other than governor removal and some power mods seems unlikely. I thought stock ungoverned 212s maxed at like 5800 RPM or something similar.

Cars' speedometers are set fast. If your car shows 52mph, then you are probably doing 50 mph. GPS speedos are probably more accurate than your car's speedo.

Plus I don't believe what I can't see. (Oh me of little faith.) The video shows 44mph. So top speed is 44 as far as I'm concerned.

My bank statement shows $23 in my account, but I have a confirmed $457,754 in there.

65 mph on a mini bike on a rutted dirt road, felt like i was going to crash sometimes my feet and hands were the only things holding me to the bike as it is a hard tail bike. was really dumb. I do not reccomend.
50 on a go kart. Felt like the go kart was going to crash the front tires were wobbling all over the place

seems like anything north of 40 is pretty dangerous. There are plenty of pictures of people on the various facebook groups people are on (cough: mini bike nation) that were going 60-75 mph and wrecked HARD. No helmet, and had serious head injuries and road rash. I dont know if they lost any iq points though. If you are dumb enough to do that stuff without the right gear you may end up dead. Its really sad, but does happen.

Those guys in detroit end up 80-90 mph on theirs. Some have wrecked pretty hard.
