Would anyone trust this Battery pack for this tool????
Do you think the stats are probably over inflated?????

I don't trust the ratings for the battery pack OR the tool. That's not even off-brand, it's no-brand.

There is absolutely no way that battery comes even close to the rated specs.

If it said 18v 2ah, it might be believable. But I still wouldn't trust it.

Plus the cord doesnt work in the USA by the look of it. Says it comes with a "universal adapter" for the power cord, but that's probably a cheap piece of crap too. UL listed? I doubt.

I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 foot pole.

you'd be better off going to Harbor Freight and getting one of their Bauer or earthquake brand battery powered impact wrenches. At least there, there's some place you can return it if it brakes blows up or burns your house down.

Harbor Freight tool Battery options are a little costly too .

I did find 3 20 volt 5AH packs I can wire in series for $75. But would still need a charger.

Well let me give you a comparison. The battery pack in this pic is 80v 2ah.

Granted, case size doesn't necessarily correlate directly to capacity, as many companies have different capacity versions of their batteries in the same case. But it's a good indicator as to whether not the ratings are possible, or just a blatant lie.

But still. My Milwaukee M18 5ah batteries are about the same physical size as that supposed 68v 7ah pack, and they are absolutely stuffed full inside with top of the line components, and it supplies 90 watt-hours compared to the 650ish claimed by that battery.

Any particular reason you want to use a tool battery?

If you are **** bent on using a tool battery, look into the GreenWorks lawn tools. They have a 60v line. Their 5ah pack is something like $170. You can also get them refurbished (rebuilt with new cells) for around 80 bucks online I believe.

I seem to recall Monster Garage (TV show from several years ago hosted by Jesse James) building a 400hp electric Bel Air powered by 380-some Milwaukee 28v lithium ion tool batteries stuffed in the back, wired to produce like 400 volts. Recharging it involved many hours, a hundred or so tool chargers, and many many power strips.

Yep... The V28 Bel Air. Ran 14 second quarters. I'd be interested to see what it could do with more modern battery packs. He built it in '06, so you know Lithium ion technology has improved immensely since then.

Yes because of the rugged casing and i want to charge the batteries off of the scooter with the normal tool charger for the batteries. Makes things a little easier and safer for a novice like me. Also, it seems to be the cheapest way to go lithium. I also come across the black & decker lithium packs frequently at auction cheap. So it was just convenient too. I just didn't realize how fast 1.5AH and 2AH drains.

Any links to the refurbished GreenWorks 60 volt 5ah pack for $80. I would be interested in that??? Maybe wire 2 together parallel for 10AH. Ive looked into the 60 volt packs before. But dont recall seeing them that cheap. Walmart had the Snapper 60 volt packs for $40 but they were only 2AH. And i didnt want to try to crame 3 on a tiny scooter for only 6AH.

I actually just bought an 80 volt green works trimmer at auction. But the Battery was not included unfortunately. But good for an 80 volt motor and Battery holder i can mount to scooter for a future project.

Have you looked into building your own battery pack with 18650 cells? They make kits that have terminal blocks that attach to the batteries and they snap together like lego. Source some appropriate cells, and bango-wango... Battery pack in whatever shape you want.

I suck at soldiering. I also dont want to deal with buying or specing out the right kind of charger. Also, when I looked into it, it wasn't that much cheaper. I could get past all of that if it was a lot cheaper.

How much do you think it would cost to make a 60volt 7 to 10AH. Pack?????

Also any link to those 60 volt 5AH GreenWorks refurbished packs????
