Lots of ideas, advice appreciated

Hey fellas, Rusty Redneck here. I'm very new to this forum and am looking forward to the help, advice, and ideas I'm sure I'll get from the other members here. I have lots of ideas on things I want to build but am not sure how to carry them out. I've been messing around with engines, tractors, cars, and garden tractors for a while now and like to think I'm a decent fabricator and can make an old engine run well. Hopefully that is true, but I'm always willing to listen to helpful advice. Anyway that's all for now.

What kind of project do you want to see? I haven't built a go kart before, but I have modified/improved several other types of machines.

Hey Rusty,
welcome on board.

I guess what my collegue is really after is pics.
We love pictures around here, we love to see people's projects
especially if there's an engine involved.

The "fabricator skill" is a mere excuse to ask for pictures,
sure it might give us a preliminary idea about what we think you might need help with...
but in the end.. we only want to see a pic or two we haven't seen yet
If you need help you will ask for it anyways, wouldn't you?

Yes I would ask questions Sid. The problem with many of the pictures of my projects, don't show much fabrication skill because I don't take that may pictures. But here's a few to give you an idea of the range of my projects.
These are:
My garden tractor puller (Ol' Ugly)

A load of garden tractors I bought in Minnesota, I built the extensions for the trailer so I could haul 2.

My 1973 Dodge D800 which will someday get a roll off bed and hopefully a crane and maybe an 8V71 Detroit and 10 speed.

A broken brass rod for a power products 2 stroke engine I'm rebuilding for the fun. I'm going to machine a new rod for it out of Aluminum.

And finally my 1978 Dodge D300 with a 5.9 Cummins and 5 speed out of 1990 pickup. I built the cross member and clutch linkages for it.

Thanks! That's not anywhere near half of it. In the short time I've been collecting, I've amassed a decent sized fleet. As it sits right now, I have 3 trucks, 12 cars, 9 pickups, a van, 6 tractors, 71 garden tractors, 2 motorcycles, 3 minibikes, 2 3-wheelers, and several stationary engines. The neat thing about my fleet is that the newest vehicle is a 1990 and they all need at least a little work. Not sure if I'm cursed or blessed. Either way, the stuff is mine and I'm going to enjoy it as much as possible.

OK, now I see that you need to go back in time and look for my lawn tractor build. I doubt I could have fab'd anything more on it than I did and it was my 50+ mph ride. Good luck and can't wait to see where you go from here!! Have a look through my old thread and locate the tractor build towards the end of it. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Just took a look at your build Scott. That thing is sweet! I have a Gemini garden tractor that I bought as a started project. The guy had a 400 cc Honda engine and trans he put in the frame but never finished it. It basically needs everything.

Yeah, it's a parallel twin motorcycle engine and 5 speed transmission. There's a Yamaha Raptor front suspension grafted onto the front but I might be using that for one of my Go-kart builds.
