Wonder if a 50" boat from ABS would be too large to make in a 3D printer as a single piece? Longest Deep V hull I find are 30" or there abouts. You planning on a nitro engine on something that large or dual brushless motors?

I found links with RC boats manufactured as large as 70". What to do, what to do..... :D

I doubt it would be cost effective as it could take 5 spools of plastic line :D

But you need ABS which is more difficult to print than PLA. PLA wouldn't do well for a boat hull since it is easily biodegradable and would come apart more easily when exposed to elements. A printer large enough to do it in one piece is also going to be cost prohibitive. It would be cheaper, but more labor, to build a foam mold in the shape you want and then build your own fiberglass hull from it.

I noticed that it did say PLA. I did type in ABS and I clicked on that one not thinking too much about it.

That's ok, we'll market them as 'one pass boats'! After the first pass, we'll just watch them slowly melt into the water...... It'll be fun......

Fascinating! Twin engine loud toy. I wonder if Evinrude licensed them to use their name? Speculation? Odds?

Could be a custom job and they don't know about it. Ford, GM, Dodge license out some stuff for RCs mostly in the form of car and truck bodies, so it's possible Evinrude did okay this. Will say that Evinrude does make a great boat engine.
