I am setting new records in fabricobbling.

My goal is to convert my scratch built minibike to an off road beast. And to not spend a dollar doing it. I searched my junk pile and found a set of 18in lawn tractor tires. The front end is simple, i got two 3/4 od 5/8 id bronze bushings and used a long 5/8 bolt and shes mint. Rear i have some tubing with a 1 3/8 id so regular bearings fit in. I salvaged a 3/4 shaft from a lawnmower transaxle. I took a lawnmower wheel hub and bolted a 70t sprocket i had to it.

Gear ratio will be 12 t clutch, 40t jackshaft in, then 12 to 70 so it will go around 10mph, so the hs50 can handle that.

I ground a keyway and made two lock collars and it now rolls.
I got tire chain for the back so It should never get stuck.
Jackshaft then rip it.

Looking good Karl!!

It looks a lot meaner now than when you started out

Thanks!

This thing works! Very fun for running through the woods , the torque is strong.

Enjoy the hackery and if attempted at home do not follow my example.

Somehow it is reliable too -bonus.

That chain guide is going to wreck chains.

It wears the mild steel tensioner down way before the hardened chain. I have used it in the past, it may not last 100,000 but its quick n dirty and gets it done. For a 10mph bike who cares. She mint.

Note to self: all engines require oil and frequent oil changes...

We need an animation wizard who can make those 2 engines talk through their holes about their lives. Maybe you should get into pyrotechnics.
