Idea for somebody

I had this idea last night while trying to go to sleep. I know I can't do it as I don't know how to weld, but somebody might can try it!

So, a Baja warrior with a torque converter has plenty of power. What if you made it into a 2 seater?? It seems like all you would have to do would be to cut off the rear section (right behind the engine plate). Then get some metal poles (or whatever is usually used on go carts) and weld them on and extend it back further. Obviously you have to make a seat mount and footpegs, and maybe even a backrest? Get a longer chain and you are all set to go.

A guy near me is selling new Warrior rollers for $90, if I knew how to weld I would get one and chop it up and see if I could do it. I've never seen this before. Maybe it's not possible? What do y'all think of the idea? Am I missing something?

Well first off I don't drink lol, secondly I was just trying to put an idea out there that somebody might want to try

That's half the fun panhead. Get a welder and get practicing. It's pretty easy for all kart/minibike purposes.

Cool. Then link the front forks together with tie rods and heim joints; instant go kart! For the financially challenged.

how would a shopping cart help anything haha

And the move along comment is slightly unnecessary, I was asking everyone on here if they thought this would be a feasible idea, and maybe giving someone else the idea to do it themselves if they knew what they were doing better lol

Well you can buy a cheap flux core 90 amp or whatever from HF, but my buddy has one and it looks like a seagull took a metal crap on whatever he is welding. I am a halfway decent welder and I can't make a good weld with it.

I would recommend trying to find a MIG, wire feed welder. Get a used one on Craigslist in your area so you can get a decent welder for a good price. I have a Miller, it works good. The only small issue is that if you will be welding outside, the shielding gas gets blown away if it is windy. You can always get a stick welder too.

The beauty of this here age and 21st century is that you could buy a welder, find all the info you needed to get started and teach yourself how to weld by using the interwebz; watch YouTube videos on the subject and all that is free info.

Good info! I will look into it! I remember when I started soldering, it was scary, now it's a fun thing to do on a rainy day.

I would recommend getting a 220v welder. The 110v just don't work as nice.
HF has them cheap.

I have the 110 flux core wire welder from HF, it does OK for me. I had never touched a welder before I bought it, and taught myself by trial and error...( mainly error).

My neighbor has the 220 one with gas capabilities, but doesn't have gas. It does work a little better than mine. ( For all I know, though, and suspect, his still had HF wire in it!)

That's a definite NO NO! You MUST use Lincoln or Miller wire.
