What size belt do I need???

I have a Brister's trail wagon 4x4 UTV with this 500 series OEM TC Driver - http://rdswebs.net/reliablegokarts.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=56&products_id=3772

My OEM driven has a 7 1/2" OD. My center to center measurement is 14 5/8".

It has an OEM comet 300668 (0.9" x 45.98") and it seems excessively loose. I measured it's OD and it comes up exactly 46"

UTV originally came with GX390, now has a new Predator 420 that runs good. Only one set of engine mounting bolt holes.

What size belt do you think I need? Are these belts measured from ID or OD?

I have researched but cannot find these answers. Mainly charts for belts with center to center being around 7" is all I can find.

As long as these things are measured by OD (which I'm assuming), it has not stretched.

If the inside is worn out from use the belt will become loose. If that's the case then maybe order another belt with that pn# on it.

Thanks. I put a caliper on it. It's supposed to be 0.92" wide, mine is worn down to 0.81". Supposed to be 0.45" thick, and mine it 0.38".

Ordered a new 300668. Hopefully that will do the trick!

Nono, that belt is for a center to center distance of exactly 15";
that'S why it feels too lose (it simply is!)

the outer circumference of your belt is not 46" btw it's 45.91
but it's too large either way.

what you want is a belt that's 45.38 inches in outer circumference.. unfortunately that's not available for a 500 series comet TC AFAIK.

funny enough.. that's EXACTLY the outer circumference for a 14 11/32 " center to center distance on a series 40 TC with a 7.5" driven pulley.

Anyways, are you 100% sure that your kart came with the comet originally?
I.E.: is your serial number on the utv smaller or bigger than 25658?

since it could as well be that you need the CV Tech belt instead.

AFAIK the bristers is an american sportworks trailwagon TW11, not?
Anyways... check the serial number and even better: post a picture of your driver and driven, and in case you had replaced any one of those let us know as well.

just in case: the engine mount indeed only has the single set of four holes..
but it's a TRAY that's bolted to the swingarm, that tray in turn is mounted to four slotted holes on said swingarm,
so you couldn't move the engine on the mount, but the mount on the swingarm (at least a bit )
