Yeah, what really made me slow my roll is that I know there with be child support, and custody to be decided and since she's moving in with me, I don't need them claiming I'm some kind of maniac in court.
We'll have our day, just not yet.

Flyin, I have been in a similar situation as you. Let me tell you it is really hard not to dirt nap some of these ball less punks but I know that if I start on one of them I won't stop and I know that is what they need "good ole fathers justice" but it is not worth your freedom and or a law suit because these pansies now days can't take a butt kicking without curling up in the fetal position and crying to a lawyer and try suing you. It is not like the old days when men were men these boys even wear girl pants as a fashion statement! Be careful man think with a cool head which is really tough to do sometimes!

You're right on the money. Everyone that really knows me is afraid that if I touch him that I won't stop. I've been accused of having a temper, lol.
Ditto on the temper. The thing that helps keep a lid on mine is visiting my buddy in prison in maximum security there for murder X2. When they shut and lock those doors behind you it is not a good feeling and at least I know that I am there just for a visit and the doors will reopen and let me out.
Really good therapy for me and makes me think twice about my actions towards certain people I have no use for. Break into my house while I am in it and that will be a whole different matter!

Well, if 2017 continues like it started then this is going to be a red letter year for me. I woke up to my phone ringing. It was son in law wanting to have a face to face. I informed him the last gd place he wanted to be was within arms length of me, that I wasn't interested in anything he had to say, fund you, you are a punk bierkster, you'd better meet your responsibilities, and if he were to urinate me off again that the next thing that would happen is that he would start leaking.
It felt good even though I'm sitting here so angry I'm shaking.

Yeah, after that I have no doubt I'd have jumped him had he been standing in front I me. I'm going to have to be careful, and hopefully he'll have enough sense to steer clear of me. I figure he will as he's seen me come in with my head cut up from beer bottles in a brawl. He knows I like to fight, he knows I'm pretty good at it, and he knows I'm REAL unhappy with him, so I figure he'll head the other way when he sees me.

I can definitely applaud you not beating the fire out of em.... which I probably think is best, but at the same time the kid did call you directly about a face to face. That takes some kind of balls. Maybe he is scared. Not gonna make excuses for em as I had my first kid at 18 and scrimped saved and did any job I could take to make sure she was handled. Gotta respect the fact that he reached out in some sort of way. As far as I am concerned..... screw em he left but try to hear him out. Maybe he just needs some sort of reassurance that he can handle the situation and that sometimes **** gets scary. Know his backstory on his pops? Maybe nobody taught em to nut up or shut up ya know?

Good Point. Gutsy (or brain dead) to even call you.
These kids are young. You know how it goes, they break up they get back together...
Maybe Junior needs some mentoring.
Things could still work out. You don't want to stand in the way of that, for the Babies sake?
Hear him out, at least by phone, and to see what he has to say.
If you are right so be it if not... It could be for the better.

Yeah, I've decided to have a sit down with him, but it'll be when I want to. I may still slap the living snot out of him. Things have changed between me and him. I used to treat him with respect, now he's going to have to earn my respect, and there'll very likely be some physical contact if he gets disrespectful.

To any young kids reading this, please understand that when you have a baby you are playing grown up games that have grown up consequences.
<~~~ see that guy in the picture? That's me. If and when you break some girls heart just remember that she may have a big, mean, evil tempered daddy that may just change the course if your life for you.
Respect is the only thing in the world that you have to give to get, and it's one of the most important things to have.

You know, having two daughters myself, I completely understand your position; the upside is their brother kinda looks like you: big, scary, covered in tats... he used to head a group who had fun beating the crap out of each other...

Having said that, I also see ridin_low07's point; some time ago, my 23yo daughter was having issues with her partner; turns out, he was having issues & didn't want her to suffer as a result; in his mind, he was doing her a favour...

I'm looking at the whole picture, up to & including him calling you: it's possible that meeting your family for the first time overwhelmed him & his "fight or flight" response kicked in, his reason for leaving may have merely been an excuse...

I believe that, yes, you should sit down with him, with your hands in your pockets & your temper in check &, at least, hear him out; if you don't like what you hear, then react; what he has to say may surprise you...

Just my 2 cents; I hope it all works out...

Sitting here enjoying having both of my daughters and my grandson in the same place at the same time. It really is the little things. I have miles to go before everything is done and situated, but it sure is nice to just have my family back together for the moment. In the last 4 years, I've been homeless, hungry, lonley, and even suicidal at one point. It's amazing how good something so simple can feel.
