Hey guys,
I just removed the governor in my Predator 212. I had a heck of a time trying to get that little clip out. Anyways, now that it's out, how should I connect the throttle assembly? Is there any way I can use the existing system, or should I investigate a direct connection from the throttle arm to the carb?
Thanks a ton!

There are a few different ways. Lemme find you some pics. Meanwhile You will need a coat hangar.

In these pics you can see I bent a new rod (coat hangar) from the carb to a hole I drilled in the stock hand throttle. bend the coat hangar into the typical "Z" bend, to hold it in. I had tocut off a section of the stock throttle plate. to clear the new rod and added a tiny little heavy rated spring.
Hope this helps.
another return spring idea is to use a longer spring and drill the hand throttle arm and run the spring to a hole on the grills on the Pull stater

More pics of a "Cheasier" return spring. These are on a Kart with the Governor still in place but the arm spring works either way

Cool.
and yes that little clip in the engine holding the plastic governor gear is a real difficult thing to get off!
I bashed mine with a Long screwdriver and a Hammer. LOL

Yeah I bashed around it with a cold chisel/ screwdriver head and twisted it into a mess with a pair of locking pliers.

I used the governor rod and bent it up to mate with a pre-existing hole in the throttle arm.

Forget what # it was but drilled a hole in one of the cooling fins by the exhaust and ran the spring to there. Was a pretty heavy spring.
