GX390 carb on 212 preddy?

I was looking at cheap carb options for my preddy for when I cam it and saw amazon had a few very cheap gx390 carbs, ranging from $12 (may or may not be a clone, but is supposed to be an OEM replacement), to $40 (genuine honda). I'm aware of the need for an adapter plate and different throttle linkages (something about it opening the opposite direction vs the preddy carb. My concern is that these seem to be generator carbs with some sort of solenoid/ wire for fuel cut, and I don't know if the preddy carb has one of these for fuel cut, and if I'd need to modify my kill switch setup for one of these, or if it could even be done. 1: it might work, but you'd have to mess around with the jetting and crap.
2: why? because the old 212 carb is busted? buy a new 212 carb off go power sports or somthing. it would be a lot less work than trying to adapt a gx390 carb onto it.
not trying to be an a$$, im just here to help you save time and money.

Going for a larger carb for when I do some things to the preddy. Was told a gx390 carb had similar results to the 22mm minuki. And your fine lol. That's what I'm here for

if i were you, i would just bite the billet and buy a mikuni. they have slides instead of butterflys so you get way better throttle response and they are pretty much ready to go out of the box. it is expensive, (kinda) but i think it would be worth it in the long run. (less maintenance and such)

The standard shipped main jet is usually #100.
Just to be safe, I'd order a couple extra sizes in case it needs fine tuning.
I'd probably order 1 up and 1 down. So like a #90 and a #110 or #120.

I purchased two 22mm so far. One had the filter included, and one was bare and I purchased the filter separate. Cost a lot less for both. 16.95 shipped I believe. I made my own intake for less than 1.00 using a 2" piece of 3/4" conduit and two small pieces of 3/16 plate.

Could of used 1/8" and been fine too. Made the cylinder head flange first then welded it to the conduit and then with the engine level I made the flange for the carb side and marked it with a sharpie where it would be straight up and down then removed and welded the other flange.

Sanded both flanges on a flat surface to make sure no warping and a good seal when I mounted it. Purchased two 6mm studs for the head and two for the carb, and to nuts to secure. That was the 1.00.

So far with only starting my engine twice, I can agree the throttle response is way better. I need to adjust the idle and test and tune, but I'm hoping the factory jet will do.
