Well I'm been thinking about this for some time and have started planning. This thread is mostly a place for me to keep track of my ideas and a place to post links so I remember. Feel free to chime in and call me nuts or stupid. I am obsessed with the idea of building this right now.

Not sure I could live like this permanently (where would I keep my tools), but for the price of a cheap car.........

Actually getting quotes for an 8" I beam deck over flatbed trailer.
http://www.pjtrailers.com/trailers/f8-8-inch-i-beam-deckover

Deck is 33" Tall.
It has a 96" (8') Wide Deck.
20' Long
Should be less than $5k.

Picture this 20' long with no dovetail.

The frame of the shed is 8' x 16'.
With the overhang, the shed is 8' 5.5" Wide at the widest point.
The max for travel on most roads is 8' 6". PERFECT!!!!

The whole thing from bottom of frame to top of roof is 10' 7".
On top of a 33" trailer is 13' 4".
The trailer should settle 2" with a building on top.
Max height for the road is 13'6".
2-4" or so for roof vents and skylights.

You'd walk into an open area and then it would have an 8'x8' Loft in the back.

Under the loft, at the very back end would be a 3.5' wide x 8' long bathroom/ utility room. A 24" pocket door gets you in. 42"x24"' tub/shower, 18" x 24" slop sink, toilet all along the same wall.

Still under the loft, on the other side of the bathroom wall, would be the kitchen. 24" deep fridge and counters. 24" wide fridge, Small sink, small LP cook top, 120V AC convection microwave oven (all along the same wall).
About 21" of space past the 24" deep counters is still under the loft.

Under the loft is at least 6' and a few inches from soles to bald spot. I fit.

The wall between the kitchen and bathroom could house all the propane and water lines and any air ducts if needed.
The wall can be 9" Thick with drywall/paneling.
Shower, Toilet, 2 Sinks, LP Range Top, LP option Fridge, Hot water heater...

Probably LP Furnace (maybe wood stove).

Need to have Air Conditioning too.

A 36" x 80" steel door on the front 8' side will be on one side and open into the corner of RV.
Behind the swing path of the door will be a 24" by 48" table/desk folding table with 2 folding chairs

Opposite the table/desk would be a 32" x 32" x 80" Futon that folds into a 75" by 54" bed.

---------- Post added at 09:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:39 PM ----------

The other 4' of trailer would be an added 4'x8' "lean against" shed. Think generator, batteries, electronics,...

RV style plumbing and electric. 120 AC, 12 V DC, 30 AMP plug in, 15 AMP plug in, solar power, 8750 W generator...

Back of shed. Bathroom window. View from the throne.
I'd move the window to the other wall if Adding a 4x8 lean to shed on the back.

I like tiny homes too. I've got ideas on one too. No composting toilet though.

I like the idea of the composting toilet. No need for a black water tank.
Really could do without plumbing at all. 5 gallon jug in bathroom. 5 gallon jug in kitchen. Extra 40 gallons somewhere else LOL.
Heat some water for bathing on a fire.

(Not for RV's) lol warning labels:cheers2:. That is what the O2 sensor on the unit and a window or vent is for. Heat the RV by opening the widow. Genius.

Blue Flame Vent Free Heaters

This Vent Free Blue Flame 20,000 BTU liquid propane heater is the perfect supplemental heating solution even on the coldest days. With a 99.9% efficiency and vent free operation, the heat stays in the room and your dollars stay in your pocket.

It needs no external power, so it can operate during power outages when your home furnace and electric heaters won't. Installation is easy... this unit can be permanently mounted to the wall or securely fastened to the floor with included mounting brackets and fasteners.

Most common uses are rooms that don’t warm well so you can adjust the temperature level in them without having to affect the rest of the home.

It's also perfect for adding heat to places that need temporary heat, such as hunting cabins, recreation rooms, enclosed porches, room additions, garages, and workshops.

There are two types of vent free heaters, blue flame (or convection heat) and infrared (or radiant heat). The difference in these types of heat are how the warm. This unit is a Blue Flame Heater.

A blue flame heater warms the air. It doesn’t radiate the heat like an infrared unit. It can be put in a narrow area because the heat rises and warms the area from the ceiling down. Blue Flame warms the air, infrared warms objects, which heat the air.

With a factory standard Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS), rest assured this heater will provide you with years of comfortable and safe heat.

Note: Units cannot be converted from Propane to Natural Gas and vice versa. They are not designed to be a primary source of heat, as they are designed to work with a furnace.
