Predator 212 Help

I just went to start the predator on my kart and as soon as I pulled the cord it sounded like a gunshot went off. It started perfectly 5 minutes ago, I wired up the kill switch, and then it happened. Smoke was coming out near the exhaust. I'm scared to try and start it again. Anyone know what happened or what to do?

Try to start it.
If it is broke, it is broke.

If it doesn't run right, turn it off.

How old is the engine and how long have you had it?

I assume the gunshot was the starting pistol of the man in your head telling you the race has begun.

Gunshot = maybe a good backfire?
I don't see how wiring a killswitch wrong can make a sound, except DOH!!!

I didn't wire the switch up wrong, I had it on and it was working fine, I just disconnected it for a second and put it exactly the same it was before.

The engine is 3 or 4 months old but hasn't been run much.

I'm gonna try starting it again and see what happens

2.9 months would be better than 3 or 4, unless you bought the extended warranty.

Anyway...you're welcome!!!

It sounds like what happened was it stopped with the exhaust valve open and somehow gas got into the exhaust...first fire on intake trying to leave ignited it.
