So EZcome-EZgo said I should put some relish on a hotdog.

1. Mustard, nothing else.

2. Chili, Cheddar Cheese and Raw Onions.

3. Chicago style dog. (Real close third place in my books)

Because I'll forget some stuff this is from Wikipedia.

A Chicago-style hot dog, Chicago Dog, or Chicago Red Hot is an all-beef frankfurter on a poppy seed bun, topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices or wedges, pickled sport peppers and a dash of celery salt.

JUST NO KETCHUP!!!!
SOME PLACES IN CHICAGO WON'T SERVE KETCHUP.
SO IF YOU WANT KETCHUP FOR FRIES, YOU MUST GO TO McDONDALD'S ACROSS THE STREET AND PAY LIKE THE SIGN TELLS YOU.

So what do you like on your hot dogs?

There's a guy that has a restaurant right next to the one I used to own.
He's from Chicago, with all the attitude that sometimes comes from there.
His claim to fame was his Chicago style hotdog.
This guy took Jerk to an unbelievable level. He was always trying to trip me up. He'd try to get me in trouble by calling planning and zoning, or the health dept, the dog catcher....anybody who'd listen to his Smelly Rat.

One time he tried to sell BBQ and upstage me, it didn't work.
He put a sign in his lot that said best BBQ in town, then served some pre-packaged carp that looked like hair with sauce on it.

I retaliated by posting my own sign.

I bought the official Chicago all beef dogs.
The poppy seed hotdog bun.
The neon relish, the sport peppers, and everything else it took to make a stupid Chicago dog.

My HUGE sign said: BEST FREE CHICAGO DOG IN TOWN!

For a week I just gave away Chicago dogs. It cost me in sales, but it was cheap, and more fun than you can shake a stick at. My food supplier hated the guy so much, that when I told him what I was going to do, he gave me all the stuff at cost.

It only took a day or two before his BBQ sign came down, but I had to get rid of all that Chicago excrement.

If anyone ever wants a phone # to prank this Bozo, send me a PM.:devil2:

I got stories a mile long about this guy.

I don't go as fancy as I'd like on a hotdog I'm fixing for myself, just mustard, yellow or spicy brown.

But I do like relish, chili and onions plus the aforementioned mustard. Never ketchup!

Chicago style sounds fantastic.

Mac n cheese....

JK....but barely...I like to slice up hot dogs and put them in mac n cheese.

And I really like almost anything on a hot dog...but ketchup (catsup)....is just plain wrong....I don't even like that on hamburgers ...but...it's great for french fries and hush puppies.

I read somewhere once where we Americans are stymied by only one type of ketchup/catsup available to us; the sweet, red, corn syrup and high fructose corn-syrup-laden Heinz or Hunt's.

But there's salty and spicy types out there in the world that are alluring my taste buds...
Anyone care to elaborate on that?

Mustard Only! Period.

But you guys are missing the point. What kind of Hot Dogs do you prefer?

Myself I like the Oscar Mayer 100% beef "Franks"
Tastes nothing Like a Pork, Chicken and Beef "Weiner". Those are just gross!

I am neither a hot dog snob or a beer snob, and I don't care to be in the company of either.

:iagree: The one thing I haven't bought in year's is ketchup; it's just to sugary sweet for my tastes. Now, Arby's sauce, or A1 thick and hearty? It's kind of interesting that several of the Mom & Pop BBQ outfits that I see locally each summer have family recipes for their own sauces that go low on the sugar, and high on flavor. Which is why I mentioned those two brand's as reference.

Mustard? Any quality brand of basic good old fashioned yellow works for me. Like the above mentioned brand's, I much prefer tart with flavor over carbohydrate coma grade colored sugar in a bottle.... (And don't get me started on some of the weird @$$ things the fast food places are trying to claim are fit for breakfast)........ :ack2: :ack2:

Ball Park Angus are the best....but I'll eat the cheapest there is as well.

Bar S straight from the package.....pork, chicken, assorted animal guts and byproducts seasoned with less than 1% rat turds never tasted so good!!! € just don't put ketchup on it....ever.)
