What engine you have in there?

1.3 i-dsi.
don't be fooled by the cf hood it doesn't have a turbo inside.
the cvt wouldn't be able to handle it.
which is why i'm just doing cosmetics upgrade for it.
would have my "need for speed machine" in a form of a go kart :wai:

Ya I'm in the same boat as you, only instead of working on cosmetics I gave up on the car all together. I think I'm getting an Rx-7 soon though. Provided nothing goes wrong anyway.

Stupid laws in Australia pretty much prevent me from driving a fast car (anything turbo, any V8 or anything above 200kw/268hp) until i'm over 24 or something ridiculous. It is SO ANNOYING.

That is pretty gay. I think in this case power to weight ratio is the way to go. Drop a street ported 250hp 13b Mazda engine into a Toyota Starlet and you would have an impressively fast car.

just like usa has weight classes for licenses. ausfailia has power classes.

i wouldnt be upset much. my current car is 190hp 210ft/lb

And the stupid thing is, that would be completely legal. Haha, stupid government.

We sold our '04 Subaru Forester XT (0-100kph in 6.4s, 1/4 mile in 13.8s) after I got my licence because I wasn't allowed to drive it... but on my learner plates I was allowed to. I even did the test in it! That was hilarious, can't believe I passed.

P.S Ed, the forester was 210hp and 236ft/lbs :cornut:

We don't have power classes, we have weight classes. It's just that on provisional licence you are limited. On full licence there isn't a power limit.

i have no fun in my car. 200hp awd and worst of all its auto :( tall gearing too :mad2:

theres your problem 200hp is only fun when its 2wd, and should be geared very low. Its even more fun with a small fwd car, "Its more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow".

Thats a darn nice engine setup there. I am a Chevy fan but its still a nice Ford. What kind of Injection setup you got going there?

Megasquirt V2.2 with the MS-Extra code. It controls fuel only right now. I will add the ignition control at some point when I am more comfortable with the it. I'm kinda surprised nobody on here has a MS on their go kart.

Fun, but scary truck. When you open the throttle up, things happen FAST and violently. It is by and far the scariest thing I have ever screwed together. As soon as the weather cooperates, I will take it out and make a few passes at the track. Seems like every weekend has been deathly windy or raining since the track opened this year. My original goal was to only run an 11.99, but I think it can surpass that now. A 10.99 would be nice. lol
