okay some updates on the gas powered trike!

Had to cut off everything and start over. couldn't get the motor close enough with first design. So now i have it perfectly mounted (with 2 8x32 screws holding the whole thing together!!!) so maybe the pivot will need to be upgraded. But i think i have everything almost where it needs to be. Check out pictures.

Engine was mounted backwards at first so i moved to other side. now it runs in proper direction.

Mounted gas tank on side (ugly i know needs a good cleaning)

Mounted air filter to front and used duct tape to attach hose from air filter to intake.

Used some square tubing to make muffler. works okay. could use something more to quiet it down some. I forgot how loud 2 strokes where! ugh. neighbors are going to love me!

Mounted everything up. Just need to add throttle control and add something to push the engine down onto the wheel some more. Oh and wire kill switch to a switch! **** thing shocked me while trying to pull on throttle cable! ouch.

The brake mech i will use to push the motor on and off the wheel. It kind of works. may need some modifications. ill post later when i get some more pictures of it. here is the start.

Okay so more pics of the locking mechanism. This hold the motor tight against the wheel. and also loose if i want to not use the engine. Still kind of unlocks/pops out, if you understand what i mean. Thinking rubber bands or maybe bungee cord to make sure it holds tight.

also put in the new throttle cable. Need a handle or something now? was thinking i could steal a brake from another bike maybe... or fab up some metal throttle?

Also thinking i could be lazy rider and add small chair? Maybe removable seat? Any thoughts on this? or should i just be a man and stand up! :cheers2: not sure how i will drink and drive standing? but i can try.

okay i managed to get a throttle control on the trike. Here is a test drive around the block. this is my second run. Everything seems to be holding together. except exhaust is looking a little loose i think. glad i welded it to frame as well :)

using my old sony action cam, 120 degree view.

Just take it out and Ride around the Guys running Gas powered leaf blowers!
No one will notice you are there.

Actually it is a 2 stroke, so the exhaust has alot to do with the performance, So I would not mess with it.

hmm. okay ill leave it as is. it did not have exhaust when i got it. so i build square pipe exhaust for it. i did get a lot of looks riding around the neighborhood ;) You're right, Maybe i only ride when gardeners are in the area. good idea. Hmm.... means early morning rides only i guess.

I thought maybe that was a square exhaust in the video.
They put "pipes" on 2 stroke engines, with expansion chambers and everything is a certain length, blah blah blah. But they do also use a silencer.
I guess anything you do will be quieter than a square pipe stuck on there.

p.s. rough estimate using google maps for distance and video for time traveled i get about 14mph on the long stretch. i do have a radar gun i use for softball so maybe ill get it out and see how fast im really going on this thing. i guess phone gps speed could of been good to use too?
