Kart steering would be the obvious answer, cheap, easy & direct BUT, there's more to it than meets the eye...

You are going to have to give us waaaay more info than this for us to help you. Pics, description of what you are trying to do, etc
simple: you don't!
but if you really need to fix a complete awkward steering ratio,
you'll elongate or shorten the pitman arm to increase or decrease the wheel angle per steering wheel angle.
Or if you have a rack and pinion system you swap that to one with a different ratio
( or if possible swap the pinion to change that)
if you need more details, please take a pic of your steering setup;
make sure we see as much as possible.
(from the linkage on the spindles , over the tie rods to the pitman arm)
sometimes the spindles have too long/short linkages or just the wrong ones for your application;
sometimes your steering feels "ineffective" not because of it'S ratio but because you geometry is far off etc.
So the more we know/see the more we can help.

Depends on your definition.

From the loss of energy perspective, you may be better off with R&P. Your kart style steering is going to be more sensitive to input from the steering wheel, and you would definitely want to make sure to use very high quality components if you go kart style to make sure there is absolutely no slack in the joints.

Brother, has anyone tried a hydraulic steering for a gokart??? Talking about advantages, we can adjust steering ratio over a regular fluid control valve right??

Another dumb idea, do you have a relative in Texas named Free Runner? Why would you want to put a power sucking hydraulic pump on a small engine? You would have no power to move the kart then MR. Engineer.

have you seen rack and pinion setups ?
I've seen pinions as small to fit on the tip of your thumb
and big enough to barely fit the palm of your hand.
FORGET rack and pinion! (really.. forget about it...)
you want to have it as light as possible: use the fewest parts possible, then reduce their weight
ANd really.. I understnad your intention, but keep all your solarcar related questions to ONE thread maybe,
that way it's much easier to get the context of your questions.
