hey all. we've built a winch (to be used for wakeboarding) using a comet tav2 and the problem we are facing is that it is not freewheeling. someone suggests that I should replace the green spring to achieve this, can someone tell me the part number or colour of a thinner one?

I believe it is his company. He can steer you right for sure.

Make sure the drive pulley is fully retracting when the engine is in neutral. It could be getting stuck "engaged" as I see sometimes. Open the drive pulley and make sure nothing like a bolt or nut snuck in there. If nothing is in there, try gently tapping the inside cone of the drive pulley so it returns to neutral.

If that doesn't help try removing your belt in between winch pulls, it's easiest by removing and reinstalling from the driven pulley.
