Please could you either resize your images or upload them a thumbnails like i have done editing your posts. You open the manage attachments window, and then post the URL in the space provided. Thanks. The large image sizes put a lot of people off looking at threads, and this could mean that you don't get quality answers to your questions

Interesting. I'm curious as to why you would turn some heims sideways.

Do you have a plan to limit travel before the sideways heims just bottom out and something bends?

What is the thinking behind that set-up to begin with?

Those heims are flat because that is the format of the corrado arms, now I know that I could have changed that, but I didn't because having them flat does limit the suspension, but not much at all when bolt spacers are used. I reckon they still have close to 60 degrees of rotation. This being an on-road vehicle I'm not hugely worried about travel, but I understand the concern

As for the thinking behind the setup, I wanted a double wishbone fwd so I got the fwd mcpherson corrado, took the spindles off it and made suspension arms to adapt it to a DW setup.

now one might also notice that using the corrado spindles (may actually be known as knuckles), the upper arm pivot point would be closer to the frame than the bottom one, this originally worried me, but then I realized its pretty close to a decent angle for the spindle pivot line to intersect the bottom of the wheel

So left side is mounted completed, need special heim spacers (whatever their called, shaped like a little funnel) for a wider steering angle at the top and bottom arm knuckle mounts, anyone know where I can find a RWD IRS diff?

need one of these

That one looks like a Ford/ Lincoln rear unit out of a late model Mustang; IIRC it showed up in several other models as well. If we could see it from the cover side we could confirm if it's an 8.8" unit. Think of it as Fords version of GM's medium size platform 10 bolt.

Car Craft actually rebuilt one last year and did a side by side with the 10 bolt and found that many of the parts were interchangeable; they built it up the same way. Haven't killed it yet that I've heard.

I definitely do not need this one specifically, any one with a moderate ratio should work, but I will have to lengthen the axles. Is it a common junk yard item?

Ok got the right brackets on, still waiting on the last heim, then I'll order those high articulation bushings. front track is 72" hub to hub, now I know thats wide, but stability is on the high end. now to order the rear axle

pardon the high tech wrench clamp system

ok folks, who knows about fwd setups? is there going to be loads of oversteer? there will be plenty of weight on the rear axle to balance it out after batteries are installed and passenger is seated

speaking of rear axle, i want to use one of these http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200648988_200648988?cm_mmc=Google-pla&utm_source=Google_PLA&utm_medium=Trailers%20%2B%20Towing%20%3E%20Trailer%20Axles&utm_campaign=Ultra-Tow&utm_content=48182&gclid=CjwKEAjw0pa5BRCLmoKIx_HTh1wSJABk5F_4ySt6APoFoI7nCF_1SM_FL5_kIjI-9Os9Ia8NAgG_JRoCykDw_wcB

It will be ok to bring the leafs about 11 in closer to each other to fit the frame rails? will this cause the axle to be subject to bending?

need to move one of the brackets back a hair
ill draw up how it would look with different width rear axles, probably going to make the rear narrower

ok so i'm trying to figure out what width the rear axle should be

this is 67", remember front hubface is 72"... i read somewhere that a slightly less wide rear axle helps handling in certain situations

thoughts?

So i got some parts, 1990 corrado RH axle, both sides will be RH to get the right width

also ordered trailer hub assemblies, decided i'd just make my own axle

ok, got some axles
not sure why the left one is so much wider, but this probably wont be an issue, they also seem to be similar weight

the dang axle bolts that connect them to the diff yokes are the wrong size, so I gotta find some ones that are

rear axle will soon be assembled, but now to order the leafs/bushings

as for front shock mounting, I think I can fit them right behind the axles, mounted from the lower arms to the upper frame rails, similar to 2nd pic

after I'm comfortable with the axle/diff fit, it will be time to build diff mounts
