aftermarket carburetors

I have a 10hp briggs and stratton motor and was going to take the governor out but wanted to upgrade the carburetor along with it, but can only find carbs for up to 150cc, any one know where i can get one that will work for a 305cc motor?

Suzuki GS450E or '04 Kodiak 400 carbs would work great. Easy to deal with, easy to adjust, and easy to install.

When I'm going for maximum power, I'm usually using a Honda or a clone 212cc motor. I use 30-36mm cv carbs. Now finding pre-made intake manifolds are hard, so I make my own. These carbs come from a local motorcycle near me, and with a bit of tuning, can make some ridiculous power. I have a 212CC clone that makes 28hp at 6500rpm. Remember when turning high revs, flywheel upgrades are usually a must.

For your 305cc motor a 30-36mm cv carb should work just fine. Your going to need some welding skills to ythe manifold though.

Also an old '63 Honda 305 Scrambler carb and do it that way. Shoudn't be too hard to come by.

Yeah. We usually got 23-25 on premium from the pump, and on alcohol got a pretty standard 27. Mean little motors, pretty scary. Ported and polished of course, billet rods, lobed cam, ignition advance, etc. The stock pistons usually held up to the torture surprisingly. I've only had trouble with the rings getting stuck. The first one I built was kind-of crude, but crazy fun. It was great seeing fire in the intake manifold through the carb XD

i wanted to mention this a few days ago But it does that when it's stock too. I can imagine yours being much more noticeable.

I know this 'cause when i removed half, only half of the airbox/turbo manifold it did that when i started it with just fuel in the carb. i didn't know these engines would do that...through the carb? I'm pretty sure it was running lean enough to fire a few times and that's it.

and i didn't really get to enjoy the torch-like flames cause my Idle severely needed tweaking and it shut its self off from the lean condition.

McCulloch, as you've only been here for 5 minutes (relatively speaking), you wouldn't have had time to see & understand the dynamic of this forum; it's difficult to stomach when someone who doesn't like to take advice is quite happy to hand out, usually, incorrect advice...

I don't think it's thread hijacking at all. To fit a 390 carb on a 212 I'm pretty sure you would have to make an intake adapter. Maybe you could buy one, but I think you could run much better carbs with the same amount of work.
