How come Lynyrd Skynyrd said "Muscle Shoals' got the 'Swampers'....livin' alone in sweet solitude? ' in the song 'Sweet Home Alabama?'

EDIT: WARNING : (This maybe harder to answer than the "Chicken or Egg " question! )

At least you spelled the name right. But you got the lyrics wrong. its not "livin' alone in sweet solitude?" Its "and they've been known to pick a song or two"

The answer: Muscle Shoals is a recording studio in Alabama, And a band called "The Swampers" recorded music there. Therefore "Muscle Shoals has got The Swampers"

Furthermore the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio was founded by "The Swampers"

Now what do you know about American Pie lyrics by Don Mc Lean

For starters, there's too many :lolgoku:

I haven't studied the lyrics but, I do know the song is about the death of Buddy Holly... but, who doesn't...

Nope....Muscle Shoals named after the "Muscle Shoals Rythym Section "....which was not a band....but 3 studio musicians...who basically only worked in the studio...even though they did give touring a try after being talked into it by Steve Winwood to join 'Traffic' on the road for a short while.

Muscle Shoals recorded over 50 albums in one year during their heyday....and anyone who was anyone went there to record in the 70's.

Leon Russell is credited for giving them the nickname "Swampers"....but at the time Ronnie Van Zant wrote the lyrics, they were still going by "Muscle Shoals Rythym Section "....Since Ronnie died in '77... why he did it can only be answered by conjecture, ....(one theory is it didn't fit the timing) ....so, therefore, unanswerable....

However, it's generally conceded that although Russell coined the nickname, the group only adopted it after 'Sweet Home Alabama' became a hit.

Ummmm...."the day the music died " refers to the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly.....et. all....

EDIT: As studio musicians, they were recorded on almost EVERY hit record in the 70's!

But there were 4. Barry Beckett (keyboards), Roger Hawkins (drums), Jimmy Johnson (guitar) and David Hood (bass), known as The Muscle Shoals Sound Rhythm Section.

And yes The day the music died was about Buddy Holly.
As a boy Don Mclean was a paper boy and delivered the news of the plane crash, "the day the music died." Much of rest of the song is just good ol Americana from Don's high school and early youth growing up in the 60's.

Poboy, my family wants me to get married, but I like being single. What should I do? Oh, and my brother likes dressing up as a girl. Is that normal?

I'm in a hurry.....marry your brother!

I wouldn't worry about your family pushing you to get married...even in your country, the girls. you date can't legally marry.....
