I have a ct70 engine with no compression and it's quite f-ed up. Would it work if I took the flywheel off of the engine, removed the cylinder and piston and custom made a sprocket that would fit on the flywheel shaft, then direct drive run a sprocket and chain from another engine (clone 212) to that sprocket? Would that work or would something bad happen?

Why would you want to do that in the first place? Have you considered doing something easier?

I would see no reason that this would not work. I did that very same mod to a ct70h transmission when I was a kid, too bad I never got to use it though.

Fix the CT70 engine!
(if it's an original Honda, parts are not too expensive, and that should be an easy fix)
And frankly, the Dax engine is worth the restoration (try to find a working original and see how much that'd cost to buy ;))
Attaching a predator is a lot of work, and will render the ct70 most likely useless as a result.
(you might need to cut the case to properly route the chain)

and frankly... spending about the same amount on a predator plus conversion, as you would on a proper repair of the CT70, to end up with LESS power...

I don't see the point.

Okay. The only reason I wanted to do it in the first place it..... I like shifting. :)

Also I was gonna try to fix it but the transmission wont go into gear (I twisted the flywheel and clicked the shifter and it made no "click" noise), and the Phillips head bolts are rusted/magically stuck in place, I broke two heads with an impact driver trying to get them out.

P.P.P.P.P.P.S I already have an engine and most of the other bits and bobs of what I wanted to do.
