I'm in the market for another off road go kart. Looking to keep the spending down as low as I can, so I am scouring craigslist and such to see what's out there. I already have a yerfdog 3203 that is OK. Id be happy if I can find another one that needs some work that I can fix up. But, I was also kinda thinking maybe a single seat rig would be better. Ive seen a couple of murray go karts that looked pretty well built. I don't have any experience with them though. Whatever I get, it needs to be at least as sturdy as the yerfdog 3203's are and I want it to have some sort of suspension.

How do those murray carts compare to the yerf dog go karts? Any other suggestions for what I should look around for? Trying to keep the budget under $800 or so. (I'm looking for used obviously)

I'm not sure how is in your area and I'm not an expert, but down here (south FL) you can find REALLY nice 3206 and in fairly good condition for that money. You have to be patient and keep an eye on craigslist.

The 3206's are the "spiderbox" karts right? How do they compare to the 3203's?

It looks like there is a spiderbox not too terribly far from me that appears to need some work done to it for 300 bucks. But it might be a bear. Looks like it needs tires (one or 2 anyway) and the guy says it will turn over but wont start. No telling what that means.

Should I consider buying it for 300? I don't mind a little bit of a project, but I really don't want to have to put 500 bucks into it to get it running.

Tip: As long as the engine has spark & compression, it's most likely a dirty carb issue, which can be remedied quickly & cheaply; repairing a spark or compression issue will be more expensive...

Can you post a link to the ad so we can check it for you?

Thanks, but I ended up finding a yerfdog 3203 for 400 bucks. Just went and picked it up. It needs some love, but it's got 4 new wheels/tires, seems structurally sound.

So, I've scratched my gokart itch for now. :)
