Since fixing my gokart like most people I wanted more power (currently have a brigs and stratton 3hp) Hopped on craigslist and found a 11hp Honda GX340 and offered $60 thinking he wouldn't take it. Well he had about five others for sale and he did end up taking the offer since he had so many.
Question is how did I do?
Pic:

Side note, he said it ran a few months ago, and he tried to start it in front of me when I bought it and it turned over good. Also when I took it home it didnt have gas (lol) so hopefully that is the case. That or a sparkplug would be wonderful.

even if it's a good carbclean that you'll need it's still a great deal :D

Checked the sparkplug and had spark.
Then i sprayed some starter fluid in it and it ran for 10 seconds
So far it seems like it might not be getting gas but I have not cleaned it yet

Great deal! There is a guy I get all my tools/engines from at the flea market. He has an entire enclosed trailer filled with dewalt and Honda products. I don't question it. Good deals. :)

Just remember that you will need a more expensive clutch for it
That's what I was thinking.
I am going to try and see what the current clutch can do and if it doesn't work out I'll buy one
Also I chopped my minibike frame and raised it to fit my old gokart motor so hopefully I'll have two toys by the end of summer

What clutch do you have. Will it fit over a 1" shaft
I'm not sure when I bought the motor it had a clutch on it and the motor has a one inch shaft, so yes the clutch does fit.
Also sorry for the late reply I was out of town for the weekend. Currently cleaning the carb. Looks to be the reason why it isnt starting since it had so much old gas and chunks in it.

I know a bunch of guys here on the forum boil them in lemon juice. I've never tried it so I don't know exactly how to do it but apparently it works wonders

Quick little update
I did get it running. Turns out the nipple the fuel line goes to on the carb was clogged. All it took was a little carb cleaner and half an hour. Runs perfect. Now to be on the safe side I am going to change the oil and sparkplug tomorrow and hopefully post a video of it running.
Not sure if I should put it on my kart or sell it since I see them going for $300+ and I only got it for $60 since it wasn't in running condition.
I should also mention my kart is a one wheel wonder so it would basically roast one tire off.
Still thinking of what I should do not sure yet.
Might just go all in and get a live axle, but we'll see.
