If you are concerned with smacking the chain on something , then install a chain protector on the hub. I'm assuming that you are only gonna be riding on asphalt ,street ? If you intend to go in the grass and dirt, you will need a smaller sprocket for clearance, then a jack shaft becomes a necessity.....
Yea its mostly for on asphalt. Im thinking about picking up some 13" tires. Then ordering a 60 or 72 tooth sprocket.
72 tooth would be a 6:5.5:1 with 13" tires.
Also thinking about leaving the 10" tires and using that sprocket to bolt to the tires. That ratio would be a 6:6:1 with 72 tooth sprocket.
I think the holes in that line up to the holes in the 10" tires i have, just a matter of how big the sprocket's diameter is. I want to keep it a nice and simple 1wd trike. or would it be better to use a 60 tooth? A 60 tooth sprocket, 12 tooth clutch and 10 inch wheels. That would be best i think, that wouldn't hurt the clutch right?
Neither of those would be bad for the clutch would they? It would just have a lot of torque? Im kind of leaning towards the 60 tooth sprocket, would that be fine for the clutch?
