My dad is an engineer and we've got some friends at a place who build 4000hp alcohol drag cars who are willing to help out for free. Essentially i want to build a go kart sized car.
i'm in the process of designing a frame/suspension/awd system& a steering system that won't go between your feet so you can operate the brake clutch and gas as you would in a normal vehicle.
the engine is where i'm concerned. i'm probably gonna end up going with a sportbike engine, but which one? r1, hyabusa or maybe turbocharge an r6?
what do you guys think?
i plan on doing body panels over the frame with foam then molding some kind of plastic or maybe even carbon-fiber as i could get a discount on it from my old highschool. out of the foam.
i want the vehicle to look like you took a Porsche 911 and a Koenigsegg ccxr and smashed them together.
anyway let me know what you guys if you have any suggestions or what

Awesome I Always Played with this though of building a huge go kart car with a body, something like a smaller version of like a 2009 Subaru wrx wagon, but powered by a either a hyabusa engine, inline 4 4 stroke snowmobile engine, motorcycle engine, or my favorite, Briggs And Stratton vtwin, Or Harbor Freight Vtwin Single Turbo With Custom EFI system

Yeah haha, we expect it to take a while but hey all good things take time no? that sounds pretty good, a supercharged engine i just love the sound of forced induction
For all intensive purposes there is no budget. how ever much we spend on it is how much we spend on it.
though we have access to many 5 axis routers lathes free welding and cheap/free metal. So we're not too worried about the pricetag. could probably snag a turbocharger for free too.

Yes, with actual body panels, a windscreen as well as a "semi" convertible roof. i plan on making the roof the way into the cart with the ability to completely detach it.
The LONG term goal for the project is for it to be road legal.

Yeah i've got a CBR600rr and i like the sound of that engine. It makes around 100 hp, plus it's a honda so i think i'm gonna end up getting another one of those and shove it in there. oh yeah and it'll rev to 15k ^_^

If you infact do this myself and I'm sure plenty of others included would love to see, I am currently in the process of this myself. And would love to see other designs. Thank you
