K1 Speed Electric go kart racing! *videos*

My bro and I are into racing electric go karts at the local (2 hours away) indoor kart tracks. It's pretty fun. They are super torquey (is that a word?) and it's always nice to not smell exhaust fumes when you are on the butt of another kart. He bought a faux pro camera and started editing the videos he's recorded.

Since we're older, this has kind of become a birthday tradition to just go out and race, no party package, but the bday boy gets his races paid for


There always seems to be an issue recording the first races...that's why it's always race 2 and 3, and never a 1.

There may be some language, just a head's up.

Nice videos... Took the family on vacation last week in FL. We went to the IndyCar St. Pete race on Sunday and on Monday decided to find a track of our own...so we went to Tampa Grand Prix Indoor Kart Track! Pretty much the same type of setup...electric kart, twisty indoor track. Surprised how much zip those karts had. Flag man had a control box that could control each karts speed or shut them down for safety purposes. If you didn't abide by the rules and their warnings, they could dial you down (happen to my oldest son in one of our races for excessive bumping). I wonder how much more those kart have in them, although they seemed fast, I imagine they could be dialed up for a lot more...

A little pricey, but great fun!

next time your in Florida, the old town in Kissimmee, the fun spot there, has a rather large gas powered track. and its all out doors.

I have an indoor kart track about an hour away from me called pole position raceway and the place is a blast the karts get up to 45 mph which is pretty dang quick for an indoor track! Also what knock off go pro dose your bother have that is some pretty good video.

Thanks Walker, We'll have to check it out if we get to the Orlando area. In-Law's house is at Redington Beach, so we're mostly on the west side...

Next time I think we'll try the "Arrive & Drive" program at Andersen Racepark. It's more of the real deal of kart racing.

Arrive and drives suck for K1, just a heads up for anybody who might be interested. We go on the weekends, and it's easily a 2 hour wait for the first race...after that it is every other race for your group.

We have pole position raceway. Which is the same thing and it will wear your arms smooth out cause of the indoor tight turns and all. But yeah very fun.

Sweet thanks I have read some reviews on the sj camera but haven't seen any actual video from one for the things I would use it for.

I was suspect until he showed me some footage on youtube, I think the footage he showed me, he found by typing in "SJ4000". Something about a trip to the Maldives. Good footage.
