so me and some friends been doing a lot of off roading lately, trucks/cars/gokarts anything with a seat. we're having problems with the passangers getting what we've dubbed sandbacks. [lots of loose sand in florida] basically our lower backs are getting wrecked from all the sliding and tossing. anyway to combat this?

How about some proper harnesses? It'd likely be a step in the right direction at least.

Are you talking about sliding in the seats or slidind in the sand.
If its just the passenger in the seat then they are just not fastened in good enough if they even are.

Sliding around in the seats, and yeah we wear seat belts, but the driver doesn't have it nearly as bad as the one riding in the seat next to him. I thought maybe its the bracing against the steering wheel giving enough support to your upper body. that's why the passangers are feeling the main bulk..

Put in some oh sh** handles for them

hahaha:rolleyes:

I would if the extra safety was there, like a roll cage, and the removal of the airbags...

gonna try a few different things for back support.

and my dumpster kart is coming along nicely... found an old shopping cart today. :lolgoku::auto::roflol:

Because you wouldn't slide or get tossed around with a proper harness

Heheeeeeeeee! !!!!! This is so true , I'm just thinking it's not gonna matter how tight your strapped, in your still gonna get sand down your Crack when the chassis is all opened up.:lolgoku:

Well....sliding around in sand is a lil bit less likely to flip the kart....but should it happen....you will have a broken neck....head buried in the sand....with a kart strapped on top of you.....

trust me, this is less kart related, then it is ROAD vehicle related.. even though we broke a windshield. nothing a helmet couldn't fix...

it's just a bunch of guys in their 20's in old crappy cars, going off road... the speeds never get past 45mph.
