Ok. I've done everything I can do. New tab2 on manco dingo. 6.5hp predator. 10t #41 on motor. 54t on axle. Rider 110 lbs. 18 inch tires. This converter stays in low and never variates. Changed spring location to try all three settings... Nada. Kart only does 15 or so. Any suggestions? At my wits end. :lolgoku: OH! Tav2 appears to function correctly if I have rear wheels off ground. Put up on jack stands to get a visual and both driver and driven are variating...... As soon as son hops on..nothing.

If the belts not long enough it won't open up either. May not be your problem just saying , wondering if you have yhe correct length belt.

Using belt that came with it. Ordered from bmi. Will double check however, stranger things have happened. Thanks. Any ideas are helpful as I have scoured for hours online and am at a loss. Works great with no load.

I think in this case, pics of your set will aid in diagnosis. If its new, I shouldn't need to be cleaned. Are you SURE you installed it correctly?
You say that on stands, the TC appears to be working correctly. Do you see BOTH clutches moving in and out? The one on the engine is the driver. It should close as the rpms raise. The other one is the driven. It should open up, as the rpms raise......

Ok. Please show mercy! Went out to take pics. Thought I'd check again on stands. Hit throttle and worked perfect. Wait a minute.... Hit gas pedal, no go. My throttle linkage off! Gas pedal only gave 3/4 throttle! Not the TC at all. It was ME! Remember guys.... Family .... Forum....uh right guys.... Guys? Lol! Ps it's a blast now!

If it appears to be working when on jacks and the belt is in correct then I think it is your gearing too high 6.5 HP with 5.4:1 and 18" tires is a bit much mine is running 6.6:1 with 15.5" tires and it works about right , could be a little lower yet, my wife's is running 7.6:1 with 18" tires and its about right
