It has an 80 cc kawasaki with six gears, with about 15 horsepower, think that will be enough power? Does two inches make a big enough different for me to do it?

That engine is making good power, as for the 2 inches of room will make a difference well it did for me since i moved the pedals also

Thats really cool looking, the coloring is really sick! Might end up moving the pedals as well, I'm 6 foot 3 so it's a bit cramped... can you help me with a problem I'm having with mine? Sometimes the kart screams along with tons of power behind it, while other times its very sluggish and won't even break about ten. Nothing is different between the two times, same gear, same spot, same everything and yet one time it drags and the other it hauls. Could the carb be messed up or something?

Could the carb be messed up or something?

I'd have to say.......the chances the carb....."OR SOMETHING "....being messed up.....are VERY, VERY, good.....they usually don't do that....unless SOMETHING. is messed up.......

OK.....I'm through picking on you.....right now....my money is on carb....possibly a sticky needle....on the main float jet....or trash floating around in the fuel system......but....then again.....no....put a new plug in it first!!!!! Could just as easily be an ignition problem....and that's just too cheap and easy not to try.......

Besides.....ignition problems just tend to be more intermittent....generally....than fuel delivery problems......

I was planning on picking up a new plug tommorow, i took it out and it wasn't corroded or fouled. The spark plug wire clearly became disconnected at some point and they repaired it with tape. Knowing the job he did on the rest of it, hid wiring job might not be up to par. I highly doubt any trash in the fuel, I'm running at the oilto gas rational that's factory recommended, and just replaced the fuel filter. Thanks for your help!

I have a Midwest toola nd die T-555 three wheeler / go Kart. It was originally disassemblable midway on the main chassis tube with a 3 bolt flange that looked like somethign used on heavy duty exhaust manifolds. anyway, I was planning on eventually cutting it apart and restoring, though the fact it is welded may be a valuable lesson on that. Seems that right ahead of the seat isa real stress point and would likely not be the "best way" to accomplish this.

Thanks, but i'm not doing this project anymore, I ended up buying a go kart that need work instead. I wasn't as clear as I should have been when I wanted one of the moderators to consolidate the threads I had made. Thanks though!

My all seal for the gas tank failed for the second time. I am just trying some JBweld on it now, and we will see how that holds up. When I bought it, the sprocket was welded on the axle, that came completely off the other day. I'm thinking I will just drive a bolt through both, and call it good. Does that sound like a good plan?

It could work, but just remember that the structural integrity of the axle will be compromised

The axle lacks a keyway, and I would have no way to put things on because the wheel hubs are weleded on. I'm planning on putting three bolts on in a spiral pattern to lessen any weak point in the axle itself. I was thinking that three 1/4 inch bolts would do the job, but a buddy of mine suggested three 3/8 inch bolts. The axle itself is only 1 inch pipe. Thanks for your help!

If I am understanding you correctly.....you plan on using 3 bolts as set screws....if so....when you re-install the sprocket....drill a shallow hole through one of the holes with the sprocket located where it needs to be.....move the sprocket and enlarge that hole to the thread size....still keeping the hole only about 1/8" deep....install the sprocket....and with it locked in place....drill the other 2 holes....remove the bolt...move the sprocket and enlarge those holes....

With 3 shallow holes....1/4" bolts should be sufficient....

Not as set screws, but as permanent setting for the sprocket on the axle. So, currently, there is a pipe that has been firmly welded to the sprocket that is roughly the OD of the axle. The weld from the pipe on the sprocket, to the axle has broken. So I plan on drilling the three holes where the pipe overlaps the axle. The putting in the three bolts.
