I'm pretty sure I can see the top of the valve where the red arrow is. The tapping you are hearing (and the reason it won't run) is that piston is coming up and hitting the valve. You are going to have to remove that rocker arm and get us a better look at the spring retainer.

I'll try to get back with y'all in the AM. Where could it have went to? It couldn't have disappeared?
Can this part be easily purchased if it is that simple? Knowing me their will be plenty of other problems

Could this problem have occurred from running the engine at to high of an RPM?

It is probably under the guide plate. There is a stamped steel guide plate that keeps the pushrods from moving around, and it is probably under there.

It is an easy to get to part. The reason it could have done it is valve float. These engines have very light valve springs (because most of them have plastic camshafts) and when the valve floats running ungoverned, it can make the retainer come off. The retainer could have just broken as well.

Well, you didn't hinder, Cam but, I think credit for this one goes to ML-TOYS & XYK... only because I didn't see it first :D

Acid, as I said earlier, time to get your hands dirty; personally, I wouldn't be using that valve again, it's probably bent now; start searching for a new valve & retainer... & find a good engine shop, you may need some work on the head...

I think it has dropped the intake valve.

Isn't that the exhaust valve?

Would it more affordable to just switch back to a predator engine? :censored:

I wouldn't know even what to look for when buying a valve and retainer

Where/what is the head and how could it have been damaged?

The right column is the intake and exhaust valve clearance (min/max) if this could even help at all.

You dropped the left (exhaust iirc) valve. I can see the top of it. I shouldn't be able to. The spring retainer has failed on you, causing the rod to drop. Buy a new set of valves. This one has been beat around and is no longer safe to run. It WILL happen again if you reuse it.
Ifyou don't see the clips in the valve cover area, you should pull the side cover. Well, you're gonna have to anyway, I believe, in order to fix this.....
This isn't hard. Just cause YOU never did it before, don't mean YOU can't...... You CAN, and we are gonna show you......
Edit
Next time, I'll read the WHOLE post before I pipe in...... LoL

You are saying I should replace both valves? Or just the ruined one?

Way to be encouraging FMJ!

I'd replace both since you are diving in anyway and you may notice the other one got damaged or hairline fracture.. who knows.. better to be safe than sorry..

You're already in there.... Replace what you can.... It's like a top end rebuild on a car......
Do it now, and you won't have to worry about any of that stuff again for a few dozen hours.... Need to check lash though, periodically......

I was talking to my buddy who works on engines very often and he checked it out and believed my camshaft likely went completely bald and may need replacing. He said this was caused by dirty oil. He also said some part on the OHV will need to be machined somewhere (the top left piece in all my pics)

I don't think all that is necessary. If it is, just buy a predator......

I am weighing out that as an option yes. I got a side question for yall also. I have a 80 tooth 1 5/8" diameter hole and I want to get a 60 tooth 1 3/8" diameter hole sprocket. Would this work? Right now the the rod that goes through it is much smaller (like 3/4 an inch) but I don't know if any of the mounting hole allignments would mess with anything

Post a pic of the sprocket hub.... That one might not work. It's not the size of the shaft going through it, its the shoulder that the sprocket sits on that you need to look at. If yours currently has a 1.625" hole, then a 1.375" hole won't fit on the shoulder. If you post a pic of the hub, we will be able to get an idea of what you need.....
