New guy from VA here! Just picked up a go kart last night, traded for a mini bike. I've "built" a few mini bikes, this'll be my first go kart. The frame is solid, I like it, but it has a poorly running 6hp Robins-Subaru motor on it. I have a perfectly running predator 212cc that I'll throw on, figure out what's up with the other motor. I do also have a Honda GX390 and a 420cc predator motor, one of those will eventually end up on it. Anyways though, I'm here to look around, learn some stuff, and ask questions where I need to. Thanks guys!

And a picture of my favorite mini bike I've done, doodlebug frame with a mildly built predator 212cc.

Cool, no, I had no idea what go kart it is, figured it was a Murray of some sort. Yea the gx390 will go in at some point in its life. The gx390 needs some work to be running though. I'll probably start with a predator 212cc, get a 40 series tc then throw on the predator 420cc, when I'm finished building the gx390 then I'll throw that on. Performance parts for a big block 4 stroke aren't cheap! Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to learning from you guys.

That's the thing with big blocks.... You don't need to poke and stroke it. It is already pushing the limits of what the frame was designed for. Ungoverned gx390 will have you flying in that kart..... NO other mods needed..... Just stay under 4800rpms.....

Gotcha, that's true, that motor already has all the power I want. Think I stumbled onto a cool little forum here. Been doing alot of looking around and searching, alot of great info here!

Welcome to the forum. Just be aware that with the big block engine you are going to have to relocate a few things, cos the seat is going to get in the way. Look at it now....the engine is right up against it. Even if you take the gas tank off the GX390, the engine might still hit the seat.

Just a thought...

What size tires are on that DoodleBug? I want some for my Doodle Devil and Sidecar

Where did you get those?

Edit : found some http://www.trendtimes.com/13x650-6-tire.html

That's a cool little bike you got there, I like the look of the sissy bar you put on, looks great! Yea, that's the tire I'm using in the rear, in the front I have a 8" Azusa tristar wheel and I forget the size of the tire in the front.

Edit: do you have an account on the oldminibikes.com forum? Someone is selling that exact tire brand new for 30 shipped, I know the link you posted is a couple dollars cheaper, but they're not currently in stock and who knows what the total would come out to with shipping. Just thought I'd let you know.
