it says 900rr at the begining of the video, I'm assuming this is a cbr900rr engine. These bikes were produced from 92-93 (according to wiki) and put out about 120bhp. So the 500 dosn't come from anywhere as sudgested in the title. the bike itself is 893cc and with upgrades to the engine may be pushing 150hp.... but never 500. The new 2015 Kawasaki Ninja H2R, known as the worlds most powerful production bike ever, is 300hp. There is no way that a 1992 cbr900rr engine could be more powerful than a modern, supercharged, literbike/superbike. This is still an very impressive, but stupid, go kart.

Exactly.. 150hp is fairly easy to reach on a cbr900RR, NOS injected and turbocharged maybe 320 for a very short burst of time...
(and that includes the need for three such engines to record the full duration of the video)
I can only assume the needed rpm to provide that power... it's never reached during the video

So, yeah.. wannabes with too much monetary and too little mental capabilities.

respect for the fact that they managed to survive long enough to make me wanna get those 2:28 back I could stand watching that BS video!

Wiki ain't always right....... I had a 98 CBR900RR.......... The 99 model came with a dual headlamp air dam...... So I know they went past 93.......
On a side note..... The RR stands for "race ready"....... Or so I was told.....

I realize wiki isn't always right (and is frequently wrong). That's why I said "acording to wiki". Now I'm looking at motorcyclenews.com and it says there was a cbr900rr Fireblade from 2000-2001, 929cc, 152bhp. Then there's another from 1992-1999, 918cc, 128bhp. Then there's one 2002-2003, 954cc, 149bhp.

Don't worry guys, I'm a teenager on the internet and my turbo busa makes eleventy kajillion horsepower and does the quarter mile in negative 2 seconds. It's almost as fast as my '92 Civic.

And such is the logic behind 99% of horsepower claims on youtube.


Also... to throw another wrench in the gears, online specs will almost be exclusively crank horsepower and not output shaft horsepower. I'd say look at a dyno chart for RWHP, but even then dynos can vary so much that you can only really use them to get a general idea unless you're comparing using the exact same dyno.
