The rear wheels on my Yerf dog were seized to the axle so bad that in the process of pulling/heat, the wheel tore apart at the hub.
so now I need (1) a replacement

Any suggestions to where I might find a reasonably priced replacement. Used would be fine

8 in
1 in keyed bore

Ed, please post a pic of the wheel YOU have, so we can see what you're talking about. We have linked you to both types of typical kart wheel, yet you say no bueno? So what do you have? If yours has a 1" hole in it with a key way, THAT IS your hub...... And I linked to that type wheel. If you have bolt holes on the wheel, those where linked too. It has to be one or the other...... :surrender::useless::useless:

BMI may have what you are looking for:

http://www.bmikarts.com/8-x-7-Rim-1-Bore-_p_1560.html

If you need anything else for your little yerf dog, they also sell a buch of new old stock for yerf dog.

Thanks for the info gran-pann

I think the BMI wheel will work out perfect for me.

I'm going to hold on placing the order...the sprocket is seized on the axle shaft as well. I'll probably have to cut thru the sprocket and its mounting hub (1 piece unit) in an effort to save the axle.

This cart turned out to be in worse condition than I thought. ..bought it(100.00) at night in the rain, but I can fix it

Seized is only a temporary condition, until you use the correct method to unseize it, of which there are many...

- Clean the axle of all rust & other built up contaminents
- Spray the joint with lots of penetrating solution
- Remove the key if possible
- Use heat on the hub (if possible) to "break the seal"
- Use a cold chisel/drift & a BFH to get it moving...

See my sig... ;)

This is what I am looking for ,but 95.00 (56.00 + 40.00 for ship) seems a bit expensive.

Thanks for the lead though
ed

Just trying to figure out which one you needed.... I wouldn't pay that much for it either. It was just the first pic/link that popped up...... :lolgoku:
BMI has a lot of great prices, but shipping isn't one of them unfortunately...... They have a lot of stuff I'd like to buy, but I can get it cheaper other places, when you figure in the s/h........

who do you like to buy from?

I will also have to buy a 45T sprocket for #41 chain... had to split the hub to get it off the axle. Sprocket was badly worn anyway.

The OE sprocket was a 1 piece steel unit, sprocket welded to the hub

Should I find a 1 piece unit ?
or go with the 2 piece bolt to a hub unit?

Amateurs...

NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER WELD ANYTHING TO AN AXLE!

Should I find a 1 piece unit ?
or go with the 2 piece bolt to a hub unit?

There's pros & cons to both:
-A 1 piece unit has less moving parts so, less chance of failure but, if you want to change it, you need to change the entire unit
-A 2 piece unit has the small likelyhood that the attachment bolts may break but, to change the sprocket means just that, you only need to change the sprocket, not the hub (which is usually cheaper)

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal choice & what you have available to you...

I like this guys prices better than BMI....
http://stores.ebay.com/Jeds-Wholesale-Tires/ALL-Wheels-Rims-/_i.html?_kw=8"&_kw=wheel&_kw=1"&_kw=ID&_fsub=1067459016&_ipg=&_mPrRngCbx=1&_sid=27129246&_sop=1

That's a $34 wheel like you want, but only 4" wide. They have more, it's just the first one that popped up. He is closer to you, so shipping should be cheaper.....
Like Tony said, the hub style is a preference. If its moved asy to drop the whole unit, for a gear change, then I'd say 1 piece. The likelihood I'm gonna change gearing is not high.
If its one of those, where you got to take half the dam thing apart to get it off, buy a 2 piece and split sprockets. The money you spend will save you heart ache and hassle.......
