Well, after lurking for a while i decided i might as well join and see what i can learn and share. Been tinkering since i was old enough, and have been working on classic cars since i was 12. I have always loved wrenching on things and cant wait to catch the Go Kart Bug.

Buy a beater kart real cheap, and get it to run. Take that first ride, be it long or short....... The bug will bite before you pull your butt up out of the seat......

Don't be too sure about that Jim.....some of these Kansas folk have weird ideas.....I mean....look at what they call BBQ......

Well....maybe we can give him a trial run.....if he can keep that sweety BBQ sauce in his porky pocket.....:lolgoku:

JK.....Welcome to the forum....looking forward to seeing your work.....

Thanks guys! I just got into Karting, it seemed like a cheaper way for me to get my fix of wrenching and welding...well, cheaper than classic cars anyhow. I've already got a harbor freight predator 212cc motor with exhaust and intake. Now i just need to figure out what im going to build. Ive been looking into a knock-off of the SFD Industries drift trike, but would also like to do a go kart. Still tossing things around in my head.

Funny how easy it seems while we sit and type. I just got married two weeks ago. Dont know i could convince her on both. I also have dreams on building a type of UTV like a rhino or such that could be used around the yard. Who knows. I'll more than likely start with a basic kart and advance from there.

Now you're getting it; the missus will be more likely to drive a kart than ride a bike; like Jim said:

It shouldn't take too long before she's hooked
