Help with frame identification

Hello All - new member.

I bought a rolling frame this past week and I'd like to build it up for my grandkids. I think it would help if I knew what this bike originally looked like in case parts are already available.

Apparently this bike had a folding handlebar, but I'm not sure the bar that was included (in the picture) is the original. The clamps do not look like they would be substantial enough to hold with the leverage that could be put on those bars at the grips.

Please let me know what this thing is?

Thanks Sid for the welcome, in any form!

I did view that post but could not make the match. I think it was the sprung seat, and the one-piece fork/handlebar that threw me.

I'll review it again.

Well.. I was too baffled to organize the post properly
but I'd understnad that someone modified ONE lil indian or.. whatever it was to match a cat400;
but TWO...?
that could still be a coincidence, but I doubt it to be honest...

So there's more research to be done
Maybe the guys over at OMB know more about this indian cat

since I know not a single lil indian that had a suspension like that, and again:
one could be modified.. a second in the exact same way I think is unlikely...

So... yeah

Thanks all for your help with this.

So from the posts on both forums so far this is thought to be an ARC model. Using that much info I was able to find a bike on this site, that appears to match nearly perfectly. The pictures are not the best quality, but its sufficient to make a close match.

Toward the bottom of the page is a '68 Alexander-Reynolds Model 5000, restored as a NY Giants tribute bike by "Mike in NY".

I have also taken a few better pictures of the frame from the bike I just bought. This may be helpful to others...

Regarding the handlebars. Can someone confirm please that bars for this bike are of a type where they are made as a bar and plate kind of unit where the plate is bolted to the top of the (what would be called a triple clamp on a motorbike)?
