ok so i keep pulling my engine back and tightening it down it has the same type of set up as a regular shifter kart or tag kart does.Where two bolts come out and there's claps that clamp onto the bar well i keep pulling the engine back to tighten my chain and then go ride it the chain comes off then doing the same thing over and over again how do i get it to stop i tighten it down and just crank down on it as hard as i can but it still gets loose and pulls the engine back :mad2: lol

Bird- Especially in science and math, punctuation/spelling counts.

If you dont want to do that... fine, we can be simple with you, as I am with my young niece's and nephews.
State a sentance and press enter. break it up at least....

In the end, if you want any more help, most people at this point im guessing arent going to take you seriously. You already got a short(apparently should have been longer) vacation due to such activities.

Yeah. ....this isn't rocket science here......I do know how to use proper punctuation. .....but I don't when I post on forums. ....the excessive use of periods.....imitates the natural pauses that people take when speaking. ......Not necessarily complete sentences. ............................ (some pauses are longer than others ).......because sometimes you have to think a little longer before you say anything. :.............................................................................................................................
Hmmm...................yeah............Thanks mom.......I'll do that. ........

BTW:......If math is one of your strong points. ...then you should know what a percentile is...I scored 98% in the top percentile of the country in math on the PSAT's......so I'd say that was my strong point as well. ....of course my lowest was @80% in history. ....so I wouldn't say I'm the dullest knife in the drawer.......

Can we go back to topic yes i have a flat mount
Flat mounts usually do not have the ajusting bolt like the angle mounts. So I weld nuts one each directly inline with mounting slots. That way I can tighten the chain using the bolts thru the nuts that I welded on and then tigthen down the engine mounting bolts.

I had to do that same thing. It was too much of a pain to try to hold the engine with the chain tight so I could tighten down the motor.

:wai: One thing I forgot, is to use jam nuts on the bolts. Tighten them down after you get the chain tension where you want it.

Same thing happens to me. I drilled a hole in the middle and then bolt it. If it still slips like mine did, then i made a chain tensioner with angle iron or 90° metal.

I see a tension spring on your idler, yet the chain is on the front of the idler wheel. How does that work?

Shouldn't the tensioner be on the other side? It's on the "drive" side of the chain. When moving, the chain on that side would be pulled on,making it straighten out any slack. But at the same time, the chain on the other side of the clutch sprocket, still has slack because it's the "return" side. Ever watch then chain as it spins around?

Well....judging by that last pic.....whatever you are doing. .....ain't cutting it.....

I could just slip the chain off.....you really DO need to much more learning and less advising.....because. ..the more you post....the more it shows what you don't know......

The post in which you talked about going to pipe fitting school was very telling. ....you were frustrated because all they did was "talk about stuff".....with little hands on time.........

Well.....I have a news flash for you bud.....that's life.....doctors spend an average of 8 years on medical school and a few more in residency.....before they start chopping on people. .....

You are quick to dismiss advice from fellow members. ...but don't realize they not only have years of "hands on" experience. ....but are continunally reading and researching in order to better themselves......

Sorry.......that very important trait seems to be missing in you.......
