Brake pad info

Okay, from my understanding. and this goes pretty well with gokarts. even still today, most brake pads made in china, are still made using asbestos. so with my new found information. make 100% sure you know what your brake pads are made of before grinding the corners off.. I don't know company's/names I was just told this by a Nissan mechanic, figured I think this is worthy information to be passed on to you guys. careful out there!

edit; I myself grind brake pad corners, because it keeps them from gumming up/squeaking. Dunno if anyone else on here does that.

well the US hasn't banned asbestos IIRC, so maybe.

you'll not find asbestos in any brake pad you can buy legally in germany though

I normally buy EBC brakes for my bikes. and from what I know, their made in England. at least that's what's stamped on them..

and the US wont ban asbestos, according to my father. is because they still use it in the construction aspect of their warships... if they ban it, they have to compensate all sailors currently working in those conditions.

edit; while we're talking about brakes.. I was wondering something... if I could hook up one of those plastic squeeze pumps, like you see in febreze or windex to my prexisting bleeding hose.. does anyone think you could pump out the brake fluid that way? Of course having the spray tip removed, and it just following into a container. or would it not be enough pressure to suck it out? Hmmm.....

Interesting idea but, IMO, you're correct, I don't think there will be enough suction to properly bleed the system...

Having said that, it may be worth a shot...
