So I have bought this used Yerfdog 30034 and am trying to determine a few things in order to get it back working well. The belt on it was used and so I am not sure if we wore it down or if it was already this bad. See the pic below. When these are new are they exactly 3/4" wide? If so, this thing is worn very bad.

The belt is so skinny now that it falls way down into the driven and therefore is practically in "high gear" resulting in poor takeoff from a stop.

Does the inside of the driver shown in the pic look like normal wear and tear, but OK otherwise?

The driver and the driven are lined up as much as possible. They are about 3/16" out of plane from each other. There is only 1/4" left on the motor shaft for the driver so I cannot bring it out any further and I cannot push the driven in any further because it is already extremely close to the chain. Is there an asy way to get these two pulleys perfectly in line with each other?

Could somebody post a pic of new driver weights so I could see what is worn off of mine?

If you need a better pic, let us know.

The driver and the driven are lined up as much as possible. They are about 3/16" out of plane from each other.

and those 3/16" is what wore off the belt more or less...
So my best guess is: it was already bad when you got it.
So, move the driver out.. I can't tell if that's an ugly screw head you have there or a set of nuts,
but you should change it.. that's big enough to get the 3/16" you need by just getting a smaller part ;)

Well... after my Christmas incedent... Id say the clutch was possibly installed backwards... Like the belt... only 'suppose' to properly go on 1 way... But thats just a guess from someone that 'just' got his TAV2 30 series 5 days ago... N having it explode on me 2 days ago(story is on build thread w/ short vid of the driven pully(clutch encasement)... Wife caught it on vid. Ull hear a 'clang'..."Uh oh..." lol

It is a 3/8" nut (being used as a spacer) because the bolt is too long...but that doesn't make the motor shaft any longer. if I come out 3/16" I will only have one 1/16th of an inch on the motor shaft and I would need a longer spacer behind the driver. I doubt that one 16th of an inch is enough shaft to run the driver. Do you understand what I am trying to say?

Ah i understand..

Would you mind to remove the driver and post a pic?
Also a set of pics of your drive setup
(where the axle sprocket is atm, different angles for the TC mounting plate etc.
Just to show us what you got and what we have to "work with" :D

ATM I'd say move the sprocket behind the TC mounting plate, and loose the spacer (well; get a shorter one)
But that would cause the axle sprocket to move too...

So let's see if that's possible or not.

Worse, you'll have to find a longer crankshaft (either by replacing the shaft of your engine, or the whole engine...)

Worst, that's already the longest available crankshaft and you're screwed if you cannot line the sheaves up.

But let's see some more pictures.. maybe we can find a viable solution.

Sid, give me a couple days to get pics posted.

Rocketkart, I am in North Port which is just south of Sarasota. Are you nearby?

Take the time you need ;)
But.. desertduler just posted this thread
maybe you can find a machine shop that can make a similar "extension"-adapter for your needs.
Maybe you need to shorten (yes, shorten) the original shaft or use a spacer on the driven too, but with an adapter like that it should work.
