Hi people. I am sorry if I will have mistakes in writing because english isnt my mother language. In my country go karts arent popular . There arent any shop with go karts parts and go karts in my country so all stuff we are going to buy on ebay. My frends and I decide to make our go kart to drive it on closed runway. We are thinking to put on go kart engine from Gilera motor 125 ccm. Is it enought ? Also can we use brakes from gilera for our cart? I designed frame . Is it better to use circle tubs or square tubs? How much will cost as wheels (which size we should take ) and everything what we have to buy . Can you write what we have to buy for go kart except engine and frame . What do you think about this design of frame? Thank you

What is your mother tongue, what country are you from?

Gilera motor 125cc is a 4 stroke engine, yes? You can easily use the gilera brakes...

IMO, your frame is a bit overdone, you have a lot more material than needed, you only need 2 rails, not 4. Also, I don't like the way the axle runs through the frame, unless you have the rails reinforced & bearings fitted to them. The overall shape is nice though...

Round or square tube is mostly personal choice; some people think round looks better but, square is easier to work with, no "birdmouthing" (look it up) to deal with...

Welcome to the forum :)

A 4 stroke 125cc engine will work well

It's natural to go overboard with your first design, I was just giving you some advice :)

What you should sugest for axle !

Use the search button at the top of the page to see others axle mount setups...

You will find there are two main types; flange which need a plate welded to the frame rails & pillow block

I have merged your two threads into one. It is better to keep everything in the same thread unless you are discussing something totally off topic

Hello and welcome,
Chain is better because there is the more verity of sprockets and clutch interchange, in case a ratio needs to be adjusted. Belts need a specific pulleys and belt to work properly, not to mention they need to fit the axle and shafts for them to work.

As Mckutzy mentioned, chain is better for a number of reasons

I was thinking to put 8point roll bar . Will it be to havey ? What size of tubes i should use.

We always suggest using larger thin wall material as opposed to smaller thickwall material.

There are no dimensions on your design, can I assume your kart will be around 6' (1.8M) long? if so, 1.25" - 1.5" (30-35mm) square tube with 0.65" (1.6mm) wall thickness will be good for the frame.

The rollcage will be more difficult because it looks better & is stronger if the tube is bent to shape rather than cut & welded so, round tube is better...
