Hey everyone I recently installed a torque converter on my gokart and everyone said they add speed but it only goes about 30mph. It currently has a 10t drive sprocket and I'm unsure of the driven but its very big. I'm wondering if I get a 12t or 14t drive sprocket will it improve top speed. I included a picture of the torque converter on the kart and the motor is a 9hp subaru robin. Thanks!

Hi,
they do "add speed" but just 10% compared to a cent. clutch..
well the series 30 that you installed that is, others may NOT or even reduce the top speed.

Anyway, without knowing your wheelsize, weight(kart +driver) and most of all rear sprocket toothcount we cannot tell you what you should expect.

X 2.

If we don't have the info requested, you might go and mess it up by getting a larger sprocket. Gearing too high can be counterproductive...
