Is this overkill?

Can I use this in my next kart? I don't want to break a chain.

I wonder how much horsepower it could handle?

(looks funny but it is not photoshopped, it is double row 200 series used in a coupling where I work)

that looks like grader drive chain
only double

unfortunately u would find it makes rubbish tracks

it must be lubricated and free of dirt
its amazing how quick grader chain lasts (or doesn't last) once final drive seal goes

it'll over heat and wear though a bush in a few shifts
u would think chain that big would never snap
but everything is designed to run at it limits

It's used in a chain coupling, like this.

I don't have a pic of the masterlink, but I just looked at the motor and gearbox. The motor is 400 hp, and runs on 4160 volts. It also needs 115 vdc. The gearbox is rated for 575 hp and is 57 or 58 to 1 ratio.

We've got some bigger motors, 600hp, and a couple rated in the thousands of hp. (Like 3 and 4 thousand.)
