Ok so I finally convinced the wife that buying a used kart to play with before building one from scratch was a good idea. I also found a kart, at a price I like, for sale. I am just a bit picky on how the frame should look.

The seller posted it Friday morning. Emailed and called him. He got back to me after I got off work, but he was already gone from where he had it stored for the day. Told me either Saturday or Sunday morning would work. I told him I would call Saturday, but the day ended up being very busy and very stressful. Plus I hadn't quite gotten the wife to say yes just yet. Got her to agree this morning and called him twice, but he never answered or called me back. So fingers crossed that I hear back from him soon as I really like this kart.

I realize that if it doesn't work out there will always be another deal later, but still hoping.

LoL I hate the suspense. Went through that trying to get my son's kart. Took almost a month to hash out a deal after weeks of no contact. ... finally got it though. Hope you get yours too.

I feel ya man. And I can also read between the lines. This kart is only half the problem. As you said- another one will always come along. The other half is mama.

When it comes to man and wife- when she says yes- it really means maybe! You want to stike while the iron is hot, before yes becomes- "you know honey... (ut oh- not honey- this can't be good)...I've been thinking. .. (THINKING! ....now I know something bad is coming!).....maybe this just isn't the time to get a gokart thingy."
(Now you just have to wait for the blackmail demands. ....):lolgoku:

EXACTLY!

I can almost hear the "this is too dangerous anyways" reason already.

Nah it's never the too dangerous issue. It's more about space. She was already fine about building l one I just have to get some areas in the house cleaned out first. For this I need to make space in the garage. She asked if the whole reason I cleaned out the garage was for a go kart. I told her it wasn't, which is the truth, that the main reason was so I get to everything I needed with out having to pull everything out all the time.

UPDATE: got an email from seller. Apparently he lost my phone number. Said he will be avaliable this afternoon for me to check it out.

Yeah sorry. No not gonna buy it.

See- they CAN be taught! !! Just kidding. There has to be worse deals out there but it might take a while to find one. :lolgoku:

I think that's the best decision given what I have gleaned from this. The next one will be better and then you will be very happy.

Yeah no worries here. I will eventually find a deal worth getting. Plus now that I got the wife ok with it, I can jump on a deal quicker next time around.

I know a good deal will come along but it is frustrating. I keep seeing some good deals coming up but they are too far away. I don't have a mode of transport for some of the larger carts with cages, so I am kinda stuck looking for something close by.

... take a saws-all w/ a 'new' metal cutting blade, and extension cord w/ you for the ones w/ cages...(sorta joking)...

... alotta the karts(like Lo-T) will fit between the wheel wells of a cars trunk, might need to remove the steering wheel and 'worse case' the spindles... take a rope w/ and a red flag... n your "SET" for atleast 100mile transport drive...lay a blanket down if your worried bout the paint job(ALOTTA ppl wondered how I got my kart round w/ no truck...

EXAMPLE.... nothing removed cept the steering wheel... 98 Toyota Camry...

YES SIR... I get starred and pointed, at (especially before I made the safety flag removeable) and been pulled once... but all the cop really wanted to know was, what all I did to it and how much i spent and how fast it went(yes i refered him to this site for the build...lol).

But Im a Eurasian redneck(southern Americanized oriental) and to us a trunk is just a small covered truck bed that is carpeted... and most of 'us' have that 1 car that we could giva fudge about the paint or anything... but itll travel to the moon n back w/ np's.:lolgoku:

.... Now my 'good' car... No Kart of ANY kind in it(mainly cuz of the speaker box in the trunk...)

...sorry had to show even being a redneck... the 'Oriental' side of me is still predominant!...
